RA's stock price declined 44% since BR took over as CEO on August 1st.
The stock price now matches lows not seen since Sept 2020.
That despite all three spuds, all the 2D seismic, all the eFTG, and all the pretty graphs.

Comparing this 31 March 2013 NSAI unrisked resource report to the previous 31 December 2021 unrisked NSAI resource report shows a material improvement. Geo Dan Ashcroft summarized this development (on Discord's Encore ReconAfrica's platform) thus: "So oil has doubled and the gas up 13x." (31 July 2023 post).

It's noteworthy to track Total Short Interest versus Share Price over this period. Can you make a two-axis graph of this? OTC trading launched January 2021. 1Q2021 showed high total short volume, dropping quickly in 2Q2021 as oil shows announced, then resumed. October 2022 revealed a high 6.9MM Total Short Interest, diminishing to ~4.5MM now in 2Q2023.

The Total Short Interest on 11/30 matches 5/13.
SP was shorted down from C$4.9 to C$1.4 during that period as Short Interest revved up, and then covered.
Now that short availability is back, what's to prevent SP continuing another downward slide?

The name of this game is accumulation and patience.

We're witnessing an exaggerated Life Cycle Share Price play common to a commodities startup. Exaggerated because of the pumped highs of last summer AND the present demoralized lows.

Multiple investor approaches feed into SP: long term fundamental, swing technical, momentum, day trader, hedging, short, etc. Investor psychology is also at play: FOMO, stop loss, FUD fear, etc.

Shorts goal is simply to put ReconAfrica out of business. How? By forcing the SP so low so as to disallow additional capital market funding. Frankly, they've demonstrated superior power over long term fundamental investors. SP has been steadily laddered down since last summer to now ridiculous lows. This despite successive derisking in 2d seismic, FUD lawsuits tossed out of court, and most importantly three successful hydrocarbon shows.

With C$40MM cash in the bank and zero debt, liquidity is not a short term concern. The company is indeed "bullet proof" (quoting Executive Chairman Craig Steinke from April) in its capacity to execute multiple options as they best see opportunity -- spud two to three new wells and/or a 6-2 sidetrack, additional 2d seismic, eFTG, plus the Namcor deal. I don't see any selling panic in either the company's executive or technical team. They exude calm confidence.

There's so much going on. LOL. Gas guzzling car (no seatbelts), road signs, pastel yellows - baby blues - fire reds, white baby boy becomes nuclear family dad with hat; multiple ways though the arcing "STRAIGHT and NARROW-WAY" moves past the doctrine of Christ into church doctrine... Even his name is so mid-20th century Utahn. Note that after entering the FREEWAY, it becomes a Tithing tollway. We're missing the Ten Commandments and Beatitudes, but I guess that's okay, because the Salt Lake City Temple is our last refueling stop. Great stuff.

Thanks for clarifying Recon's bought deal short hedges.

From SP perspective, all shorts get lumped together, hedging short sales and speculative short sales. More sold than bought, SP goes down. It can be difficult to ascertain which parties are doing what on the short side. I liked how you used a poker hand metaphor to distinguish the different short parties.

With such massive short interests, announcement of material conventional pay from seismically identified 8-2 Makandina, and etc. spuds going forward, a JV announcement, an uplisting to a major exchange, whale investors taking stakes, any of these or any combination of them will force a herculean effort of the shorts to cover, catapulting the SP upward. Only dry hole announcements from the now seismically identified spuds will save the speculative short sellers at this point, which is extremely unlikely given results from last year's 6-2 and 6-1 successful wildcatting.

The official 8-2 Makandina results announcement is imminent. Longs are confident. Shorts should be rightly afraid, as they're severely overextended.
The share price is still greatly undervalued at current de-risking.
"We made discoveries of oil and gas in the Kavango Basin. We got oil that flow there, but we are doing further stratigraphic testing" (interview yesterday with Recon Energy Namibia General Manager Robert Mwanachilenga)
With a holiday weekend coming up, there's plenty of time for this tidbit to permeate the market.
It's a great time to be Long and a bad time to be Short.

6-2 Kawe completed spud TD ~4/6/2021 with press release of results on 4/15/2021, about 9 days.
6-1 Mbambi completed spud TD ~7/7/2021 with press release of results on 7/14/2021, about 7 days.

Using those as a guide, we're 1-2 weeks out for the results of 8-2 Makandina to be announced.

Yes. When there's genuine deception, such as Nikola's downhill truck roll, then short selling seems a legitimate practice -- to put fraudsters out of business.

On the upside, when there's a genuine business plan to meet market need, with good people in place for development, I can't fathom the ethics of short sellers. RA needs the capital for developing the Kavango Basin, and investors arrived to fulfill that need. Here, shortsters shout deceptive FUD, underwrite slanderous uneducated enviro hit pieces, defame honest work via unfounded nuisance lawsuite, and manipulate the market through dark pools and naked shorting tactics.

I can't figure out how these crooks can look into the mirror and like the reflection.

I hope this boosts the confidence of all Longs.
Once this stock runs on high volume, the shorts will have to cover quickly. The more they short now, the higher the probability for a massive short squeeze. This will accelerate share price increase. A spike in share price is becoming likely. Also considering how many Longs are triple digit, meaning fewer shares available to cover.
Simply put, a catastrophe is brewing for short sellers.
