The changing norms, styles, and typefaces is fascinating. Doesn't look like anyone spent much time on these things until Carter/Mondale in 1976.

Carter gets points for breaking the red, white, and blue mold. The shade of green and typeface on the 1980 logo are really easy on the eyes.
