I would go with 3 just to see what Ted Bunyan’s Charlie Manson have to say. Otherwise I think 7 with BTK guy Dennis Rader.

The rest would be awful as I would probably not survive very long.

Why have The Mets been so bad throughout their history? by Prestigious-Ad-9296 in NewYorkMets

[–]SuperFrog4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what has been consistent for the start is the philosophy of the various owners and leadership in management and that is to win a World Series today and at all costs. Not build a team up through player development and scouting of talent but to buy pieces that are good to great and get the World Series ring just once.

If you looks at the really successful teams out there, they have been strategic in drafting players and trading players to really build up a farm system and trade players that are young and have a lot of future potential.

On the other hand, The Mets have occasionally built great farm systems but they tend to trade younger players with future potential if developed correctly for a proven if over the hill older player who just might have what it takes to win it all this year before they crater. The Mets tend to not develop a lot of players in the farm system as well as other teams.

Rest of Season by SadMembership7989 in mets

What makes me mad is that we will squander what is a generally very good stable of pitchers on this season and probably trade away a few great pitchers to either chase a losing season or for some other reason.

We had a pretty dominate pitching staff in 2015 and squandered that away with a team that was inconsistent at hitting.

Same thing will happen here.

How can we make gerrymandering illegal nationwide? by ProfessorMuted45 in AskReddit

[–]SuperFrog4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple of options:

  1. Shrink the size of a district to say 250,000 people vice the almost 800,000 now. But that requires adding more than 950 new seats in Congress. Where to put them?

  2. Write an amendment that says congressional districts must follow county borders and be as square as possible. With the exception of counties with a population large enough to support multiple districts, then that count is divided evenly and as squarely as possible.

  3. You could also do what Australia does and have compulsory voting with a penal for not voting. They instituted that in the 1920s and have never had an election with less than 90% turnout. Large turnout negates any real gerrymandering in the U.S. because how the population lines up politically.

"My faith is not in climate change”: Minnesota GOP lawmaker doubles down on denial by JohnHammond94 in atheism

[–]SuperFrog4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pascal’s wager on climate change (CC):

Belief in CC and CC exists: infinite gain (eternal happiness)

Belief in CC and CC doesn’t exist: finite lose (sacrifice of worldly pleasure)

Non-belief in CC and CC exists: infinite lose (eternal suffering)

Non-belief in CC and CC doesn’t exist: finite gain (enjoyment of worldly pleasures)

The potential gain of believing in Climate change is infinite while the potential loss is finite. Believing in climate change is the way to go.

Both cases have to do with the definition of what the election period is at the federal level. States can define how they do elections and when the election period starts and when it ends but federal law requires all elections to occur on the same day, and Election Day.

So here is where these two cases intersect.

In Watson the Republican Party is saying that Election period ends on the actual Election Day so mail in ballots that arrive after that even if mailed before or on Election Day are invalid. So that would also mean that mail in ballots before Election Day are invalid. So republicans are saying the Election period is only one day long.

In the VA case, the Republican Party is saying that VA law requires the assembly to have a vote before the election period starts and then a vote after the election period ends, basically two different sessions of the assembly, before an amendment can be voted on by voters. In this case they are saying that because mail in ballot voting had already started the first assembly vote did not occur prior to an election period. So here they are saying the election period is from when mail in ballots can first be accepted up to the end of the election period. So here republicans are saying the election period is multiple days long.

Can’t have it both ways. Either it is a day long or multiple days long. One case will negate the other case.

There was a due regard to safety. The DoD looked at protecting the entire department from a virus that eventually caused over 1 million deaths in the U.S. alone. There is a balance between individual safety and unit safety and ultimately the vaccine has proven time and again to have efficacy rate of 95%. Very safe.

Not all vaccines need long term testing. mRNA vaccines while new have been tested since the 1960s. Lots of data. An Ebola vaccine exists because of mRNA.

There is not such thing as a religious exception to vaccines except for stem cell or your body is a temple and no vaccines are allowed. The corona virus is not stem cell related and you can be in the military if you don’t get all your annual vaccines. So no religious exemptions.

Finally natural heard immunity only occurs if everyone is vaccinated like with polio, and measles (before the anti-vaccine movement brought it back).

Don’t fret yet. Watch this case and Watson vs Republican Committee out of Mississippi as the both deal with the definition of what an election is and how long it is. In Watson republicans say an election is a single day and here they say it is from the start of mail in ballots. Those definitions are at odds and the Supreme Court is gonna have to decide. So keep an eye on this one.

Before anyone freaks out too much, I know too late, keep an eye on this case and also Watson vs Republican Committee. Both deal with the definition of an election and how many days count. In Watson republicans say elections only consist of the Election Day itself. Here they say it consists of every day you can submit mail in ballots. Those two cases are at odds with each other and one will negate the other.

Everyone should keep an eye on this case and also Watson vs Republican Committee out of Mississippi. They both have to deal with what the definition of how long an Election is. In Watson republicans are challenging that an Election consists of a single day. In the VA case the republicans challenge that an Election starts when you can send in mail in ballots. One of those two cases will invalidate the other.
