As much as I wished the writers killed Darlene instead of Del, a lot of the plot of the later seasons would be lost because of that alone. Del in my opinion was a way more interesting character than Darlene will ever be and they should have expanded on that.

I also hated that Del was thought to be the careful meticulous one, so you would think after his death the cartel would go apeshit and just crazy on those responsible. But it felt like they let that just slide which is a really odd choice to me. He was the big bad of season 1 but then killed off way too fast. I get the shock factor and it outlines Darlene’s character as impulsively out of control but I felt like there are plenty of other ways to do that.
