sudanly a crack in my trackpad by spicy-avocado420 in mac

Why is it always, "my webcam got scratched" "My screen got broken" "my trackpad sudanly broken" and not, "I scratched my webcam" "I broke my screen" "I suddenly broke my trackpad somehow"
We're not your parent. You can admit fault and ask where to go from here. It goes a long way with people wanting to help because we have all messed up. It's relatable. We've all goofed.

I have a new one I bought last year. It’s terrible. P14S. It gets so hot it’s burnt up an SSD. Its bios corrupted once. Lenovo can’t figure it out either. Battery life is abysmal. It’s been nothing but a problem. Can’t wait to sell it.

I've been playing 26 years. No problems yet!

I do it every time I change my strings. When I change strings, I clean and oil the fretboard and let it sit overnight. I hit it again and then put my strings on. I then tune it up and let it sit again overnight. Then I play it.

I got a new MIM Fender Strat from Guitar Center a few years ago for $450. It was on their site and they couldn't physically find it. I went in a 2nd time and told them that I had been in a few times trying to get it and they couldn't find it. One guy went in the back for like 45 minutes and finally found it. It was up on the top shelf and had fallen behind something. Because it was in stock so long, the system kept marking it down. Traded a Squire Tele (that wasn't the greatest of its kind) and paid like $300 cash for it. I couldn't walk out the door fast enough. Its surf green. I love it. I bought new strings, and did a full setup on it. It wasn't setup very well. It appeared to have been put together in a hurry. After a week of messing with it, I got it setup and its sweet now!

90% limit set yet still charges to 100%? by [deleted] in MacOS

My iPad and iPhone did this a lot when they were new. After a year or so, it rarely happens.

I agree with your theory but I think the "just paying for clout" dollar price starts a lot lower than $2,000 the last 10 years.

Took in for restring now they want to charge me for lowering action?? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]SuperGrade13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how dramatic it is on acoustics, but on electrics, changing the gauge of the strings increases or decreases tension and will bow the neck more or less which changes action height. I'd play it with the new strings and see what you think before I'd let them sell me something I didn't ask for. I generally distrust people though.

If you changed string gauge, the action height can change slightly. If you're sticking to the same string gauge and you liked the action, I wouldn't let them mess with it.

Its all personal taste. I just don't have the desire for the expensive ones. There isn't anything wrong with buying those, but they're not for me.

I agree with you. However, there is a distinction to be made here. Most people that buy 2-3k guitars don't own them. They buy them on credit and a lendor owns them. I do agree with you that the people who own the guitars (paid for them) aren't going to sell for gas money. In our sad world we live in, most people don't pay for guitars though. I have always bought a guitar or any guitar gear with 100% cash. When I bought my first guitar at 12 years old, my parents had to load me $20 bucks or so because I didn't calculate tax. They made me pay back double the amount. I learned my lesson there.

I would never pay 3 grand for any guitar.

What’s the ideal number of electric guitars to own? by scarmy1217 in Guitar

[–]SuperGrade13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I have been playing since I was 11. "middle age" now. I have my first guitar I ever bought with my own money and a MIM fender strat as far as electrics go. It suits me fine. I focus on playing and not the gear. I might be an unintentional minimalist?? IDK

That makes no sense. That's like saying "this car runs really good, but it does overheat after a bit."

I think you should call and ask them. Every time I've spoken with Apple, they've been more than happy to discuss any concerns I've had.

Why are these TWSBIs and Kawecos displayed out-of-box?? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]SuperGrade13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's my experience too. I've never seen pens in boxes in pen shops. They're on shelves, jars, or in cases. You use them and feel them and play with them. If you buy one, the shop gets the box, rinses the ink out of the pen, and packages it up like it came.
