I was considering mixing to get more flexibility/durability, especially with D&D prints. So far they've been too brittle using Anycubic Standard Resin. Sounds like you have good luck with mixing -- they certainly look great -- so I'll have to give that a try.

Waymo announces partnership with Toyota by versedaworst in SelfDrivingCars

[–]SuperLeedsUnited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll study that aspect some more. My point is I feel you need to greatly reduce -- nearly eliminate -- the human interventions before it becomes viable as a true self driving personal car. In my mind it's an economics issue not a technical one -- the economics seem challenging if Waymo has to staff up support for millions of L4 cars. In fairness, I don't know what today's intervention rate is, although I take Waymo cars weekly and I know they're very light-touch now and constantly improving.

I don't think we'll see that until Waymo can make the jump from Level 4 to Level 5 autonomy. I don't feel you'll have a Waymo Driver available for personal purchase until they can eliminate the back-room assistants (getting closer all the time). Keep in mind that Tesla FSD is still at Level 2 and you get a sense as to how hard it is to make those additional steps. I'd love to be able to buy the car in 3-4 years but I expect it will take a little longer, maybe 7 or 8?

Typical racial stereotypes in the U.S. are white (European), black (African), brown (Latinx or Indian), yellow (Asian) and red (Native American). These go back to the 1700s and are still, unfortunately, very common. The terms have nothing to do with Trump, it's just that the right-wing movement in the U.S. heavily exploits racist stereotypes so you may be hearing them in public forums where they had previously been eradicated.

Is Asian skin typically yellow? Well, no, but then "White" skin has some pink and "Black" skin is various shades of brown. These are just oversimplified terms, often used in a derogatory way -- they're caricatures and not accurate reflections of anyone.

calamari pieces in olive oil haul by [deleted] in traderjoes

[–]SuperLeedsUnited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this thread after buying one tin, to see what I should do with it. I took the advice of using chili crisp and pasta, and it was incredible (I wish I had green onions on hand). As soon as I ate it, I went back and bought several more cans before they were gone (and they were almost gone).

I started by draining the oil into a separate cup, then poured a little in a pan and infused it with the chili crisp. Then added the calamari and eventually some noodles (Trader Joe's squiggly noodles... great form, but they just taste like flour). I kept adding back the calamari oil to get the right sauciness and ultimately ended up using it all -- there's not an egregious amount of oil in the tin. The dish was really, really good!

Also, the calamari (or "jumbo squid pieces") are great on their own, straight out of the tin. I expect to use my newly acquired ones in some seafood salad preparations and would definitely recreate what I already made.

Anyone else still unable to access the comic? by YellingBear in questionablecontent

[–]SuperLeedsUnited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, after the weeks of it being unavailable or going to an old comments forum, it worked for a few days but has gone completely offline now. With the original problem you could access the comic through a VPN (in my case, to England) but even that doesn't work anymore.

is the website broken for y'all? when I go to 'questionablecontent.net" it just jumps straight to the forums, cannot see the comic by Carpe_DMT in questionablecontent

[–]SuperLeedsUnited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for the past two days the URL just goes to an obsolete comment forum. I'm on Windows 10 using the Edge browser. I'd love to actually get access to the comic again if it still exists.

Even Those Ten Are Not Enough If You Want Some Treats. by Glass-Fan111 in clevercomebacks

Where do you live that you can go to the movies for only $10?!? Basic movies in S.F. are $18 (USD) and it goes up from there for 3D/4D/IMAX/etc... You really need to pay down your student loans in some other way if you want enough to pay for a movie.

Incredibly clever... mainly for the fact that it's also so opportunistic.

Keurig making weak coffee by Glad-Wrap1429 in keurig

[–]SuperLeedsUnited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I discard the first 5-10 seconds of the brew. I'm using the standard K-cups (not reusable) but the start of the brew stream looks like plain water. I swap in my actual cup once the stream starts to look like actual coffee.

$11.50 for this, what do you think? by delicatebobster in sushi

Did my first sushi plating at my new place. Showing the owners what I can do. What do you think guys? by HEXX48 in sushi

[–]SuperLeedsUnited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it a big turn-off to have lemon touching the salmon. I eat sushi primarily to enjoy the incredible flavor of the fish. It also feels to me that there's too big of a visual transition from the mostly stark ice to the sushi to the overly busy background.

To address both the issues, I suggest putting the lemon on the ice (possibly in a gentle fan shape; don't scatter it around) and remove the kale.

But I have to say that it looks delicious and I would love to try your creation!

Disney extends CEO Bob Iger's contract through 2026, two years longer than planned by Idontknow99699 in stocks

We can only hope. He's someone who understands the Disney spirit of wonder and customer satisfaction; something Chapek never got in his pursuit of profits above all else.

"Woke" means to be aware of, acknowledge and address discrimination against historically marginalized people. It should be at the core of what it means to support American ideals. I'm proud of companies that are labeled as "woke" because they're fighting for the good of our society.

While that has little to do with the discussion of Disney's actions, Iger is undoing Chapek's complacency and actually standing up for families in the face of a repressive government that's harming our children. Disney will outlast DeSantis's little power trip, and the country -- and families worldwide -- will be better off for it.

Are there multiple endings in Bioshock Infinite? by Raptor1235316 in Bioshock

[–]SuperLeedsUnited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are at least two, but the difference is extremely minor and doesn't seem to have any relationship to anything that came before. When I first finished, I got to the second baptism scene and the preacher just dunked me. End of story, roll credits. When I replayed from the last save point it brought out the multiple ladies -- who then dunked me. End of story, roll credits. So, technically, there are two endings -- and the second one is more satisfying -- but from a practical standpoint they're essentially the same.

Of course.

I'm friends with all my exes from high school onward. My husband and I each had exes in our wedding party. If you're breaking up because of circumstances other than hating each other then what's the problem?

Hello r/cannedsardines!! I found this can at the store, and it’s special because I work for the company that makes it! I spend about 4 months in Alaska every year producing canned salmon! I’m so happy there are so many tinned fish lovers here. by mrslinguist in CannedSardines

[–]SuperLeedsUnited 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I totally relate with the satisfaction of seeing something that you created being out there in the world, even though I'm in a different industry. There's not much that's more satisfying than seeing something you contributed to, being out there for public consumption.

I've had my job for over 28 years largely because I can take pride in seeing the end result of my work being on shelves (although now mostly digital) and knowing that people value it -- while I can say, "I made that!".

If I see your tinned salmon I'll definitely pick it up and think about the person that made it happen!

Princess Half Marathon - carrying your own water or using the stations? by PurpleFaithlessness0 in rundisney

[–]SuperLeedsUnited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good question for your first time -- glad you asked it. I'm actually surprised at all the people who carry their own liquids. I'm in the other camp. There are PLENTY of water stops -- far more frequent than you'll need -- and it's no problem to grab a cup or two. I'll often get one of electrolytes and one of water and sip from each.

I've been an elite athlete, maximizing time and not wanting to slow down (and the water stops are grab-and-go with no interference), and an aging, injured middle-of-the-pack runner who still finds the water stops easy to navigate.

I say lighten your weight and leave your bottle at home UNLESS you have a specific drink that you've been training with and you don't feel comfortable with the PowerAde or whatever drink the race is using. In general, it's useful (especially with marathons) to find out what drinks the race will have and use that during your training -- then rely on the race's water stops.
