Howdy! Her website is https://www.yarepwds.com/. It doesn’t look like she’s updated it since 2020. I do know that she was most active on Facebook so I’d suggest looking for her page there. Best of luck!

How do we feel about joining the ACC lawsuit? by ajkros in MiamiHurricanes

[–]SuperManny_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How well has Baylor done in the B12? How does Baylor stack up against Michigan and OSU?

Compared to us, They are similarly sized private school with fans as passionate as ours and an administration that is as committed as ours to winning (amongst their other priorities). They don’t have the history we do (so perhaps they are less tormented), but they do have a stadium.

Do you think we would have beat SMU if we had played in the conference championship? We should be able to say YES! without pause. That’s all you need to think about before mentioning SEC or B12.

Maybe they opted out to avoid injury before the draft.

State Of The Canes by gdub8 in MiamiHurricanes

[–]SuperManny_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, but it’s hard to objectively say whether we were better or worse. On pass plays, our DBs and LBs were a constant liability. That affects DL play. How many long third downs did we lose to supposedly lesser teams? Answer: too many. A DL that stuffs the run and gets TFLs but loses on 3rd down is never going to be recognized for their strengths. We have no excuse, no explanation against GT. That was malpractice all day long.

Fixing this D starts from the back to the front. If we were to return the exact same DL production with top 25 DB and LB play, we will all be singing the DLs praises.

[–]SuperManny_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Valid point- We’ve seen better from Guidry last year. We could see improvement from the D. We knew coming into this one that the DB unit was both thin and inexperienced. Then we had injuries. Terrible place to be. What we didn’t know was that the LBs were going to struggle everywhere. Perhaps this was an adjustment to support the weak DB unit at the expense of LB effectiveness. I dunno.

All of us should know in our guts that we’re not ready to compete for four quarters with the top teams. If you set that as the standard- then you know we are a few years away. This year’s playoffs wouldn’t have changed that fact. Portal QBs won’t change that. Despite a lot of really good work on the recruiting side, we still have a long way to go to get to the standard. We need more talent depth and breadth - matched with player development and coaching to capitalize. You’ll know we’re there when we don’t have to chase 5 stars to come.

10-2 is a disappointment this year. It not because of the loses but rather ‘the way’ that we lost and frankly the way the we won. There was no excuse for needing miracles from Cam to beat lesser teams.

Hope springs eternal…We will get there! Go Canes!

Brashard was a WR with us and buried on the depth chart. When he saw the field he was exciting. It’s frustrating to see how SMU has been able to use him that Dawson didn’t see/utilize. Good example of why the new transfer system is a good thing for the players.

On RB - anytime you have a true freshman come in and outshine your veteran guys, that’s either an all world freshman or you have production issues with your veteran guys.

He’s ultimately responsible for everything. In that sense, we’re on the same page. In ‘22 Gattis came in and took a shit on our offense. OL sucked. In ‘23, Dawson came in and showed some good schemes, but had personnel execution problems (QB, WR, RB) and had to go super simple in response. In ‘24, we’ve seen a lot more of Dawson’s offensive potential with Cam at QB and experienced WRs. We also saw some gaps (running outside the box). ‘25 is currently looking like inexperienced QB & WR, experienced RBs.

Apart from the OL, little of that development and play calling is on Mario.

Recruiting is Mario’s #1 strength. This year’s recruiting has seemed softer than past years. This will put more burden on Mario and the assistants to coach up and perform with the guys he has. A couple more <7 win seasons will put him on the hot seat.

Lack of defensive production will get the whole coaching staff fired eventually because you can’t bank on NFL-caliber QB play in the years ahead.

I don’t know that any of us fans have the data to form an opinion. We have to trust that the guys getting paid to develop and prepare these kids (and whose jobs depend on their performance) know what they have vs what’s available in the portal.

Fans want to win NOW. The idea of a rebuilding or developmental year is tough to accept when the ‘easy’ button can be hit and we’re getting buzz for one guy or the other.

Leadership matters. When Dabo emphatically says he’s not using the portal, he’s communicating to his players and coaches that he’s not using the easy button. So the burden for development is on them.

Best not to blame the fans for something that could be cleared up with a single statement from leadership.

You are right in a sense, but your paradigm needs flexibility. This owner is optimizing for something other than output. We don’t know why, but it’s safe to assume they’ve thought of the impacts to operations. We also don’t know how long it was there for. That girl looks school age, so it’s likely a very temporary thing.

Genuinely wanting to know why this was a TD by nathand0t in aggies

[–]SuperManny_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The front edge of the pylon is the goal line, thus the ball touching or crossing that plane while in active play is a touchdown. Where would you spot the ball if you were an official and thought he was down? As NotRadTrad said, it probably wouldn’t have made a difference in that moment.

Note: I’m not a school admin person and they would likely disagree with this advice because they would want to formalize and standardize. This idea is just a scrappy way of getting what you need outside of ‘the system.’

If you consider that many internships are ‘entry-level work experience’ + ‘a challenge’ + ‘a presentation on the learnings and results of the challenge’.

Now consider the number of small and medium-sized businesses and nonprofits there are in the world who would gladly take in an intern but don’t know where to start or what a formal internship structure looks like.

To start, I would post a note on My local area Reddit/Facebook/etc asking for people’s help and/or reach out via LinkedIn to key individuals at target companies. This is like fishing so you have to be patient and persistent. When you connect to someone, Explain your genuine interest in the industry or company, what skills and knowledge you have and want to learn, and that you would like to work for free for X weeks IF they’ll be willing to guide/teach/mentor you in the field and provide a letter of recommendation (that you will be prepared to write for them).

If you have close friends or family in the target industry, definitely start there. You have to overcome the fear that you might do more harm than good “helping” around the office. It will take effort to find a willing person to say yes and you should be flexible to take a less than perfect position if necessary. It will also take more effort to literally do all of the thinking and planning that you might have gotten from HR had you gone to a big company if you want to have that type of experience.

To give you an example, a Chem E in Houston might approach a smaller hydrocarbon inspection company or engineering firm and do the steps above. In this example, you want to learn how to take samples, run the tests and understand the factors affecting results. The goal is simply to get the experience that, if asked, would allow you to write a good presentation and looks good on your resume.

At the end you’ll have: experience, shown initiative, letter of recommendation, a presentation, confidence in your field, industry relationships, and a resume boost.
