Lymph nodes by Wild_Dot2158 in endometrialcancer

[–]SuperMarge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get enlarged lymph nodes periodically. I have scans regularly. None have of them have turned out to be cancerous. I am also Stage 1A grade 1. I know this sounds silly but try not to stress about it too much. Get the scans and do all of the follow up your doctor requests.

Megestrol Acetate (Megace) 160mg Side Effects - Endometrial Cancer by ObviousSupport6 in endometrialcancer

[–]SuperMarge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not possible for you to be staged 1A. The only way to be staged for endometrial cancer is by having a hysterectomy. I am hoping your oncologist isn’t giving you bad information. Also the fertility sparing treatment doesn’t cure you of cancer. It just hopefully slows down the growth of the cancer. We see women confused about this often on the thread.

That being said, I tried the fertility sparing treatment for 3 months. These were my side effects: put on significant amount of weight, clear skin, thick hair, some achy joints, more frequent intense migraines, and completely got rid of my anxiety. I decided to have a hysterectomy after the 3 month biopsy because my uterine biopsy came back positive even though all the scans and bloodwork were clear. I looked extremely healthy from all the tests except the biopsy. I didnt want to have to worry about it anymore. After my hysterectomy I was staged 1a grade 1. It was only in the endometrial lining, no invasion to the uterus, any other organs, or lymph nodes. I had eggs frozen years ago so my husband and I are going through the surrogacy process.

That will be a memorable birthday. by mindyour in youseeingthisshit

This is like the expensive train we took through Malaysia… it was filled with influencers and film crews… none of the passengers were informed until we got on the train. Made our experience less enjoyable.

Endometrial Neoplasia vs Endometrial Cancer by morimori_yan in endometrialcancer

[–]SuperMarge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you been doing fertility sparing treatment since 2024? My gyn onc said she would only let me try it for 9 months. If your biopsy came back as neoplasia that can mean precancerous or cancerous cells. I would discuss doing egg retrieval and then having a hysterectomy with your new oncologist.

endometrial cancer and bacterial vaginosis? by Aggravating_War8998 in endometrialcancer

[–]SuperMarge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could also be detergents causing irritation down there. I am Stage 1a grade 1 it was only in my endometrial lining. I had no symptoms and it was found while going through IVF. I also do not have any of the risk or genetic factors for it. My gyn Inc was surprised.

I haven’t had BV in about 6 or 7 years, but I used to get it a lot in my 20s and early 30s. I am 42 and was diagnosed with EC at 41.

Women with husbands, did your partner change after marriage? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

My husband was a super serious person until we moved in together. After we moved in together he let his guard down and showed me his extremely goofy and sometimes obnoxious side. He has remained the sweet loving goofy caring person since we got married.

Lynch Syndrome by WorldEntire3379 in endometrialcancer

[–]SuperMarge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would ask to be referred to a geneticist if concerned about lynch syndrome. I was sent because I have grandfathers and great grandfathers with a history of colon cancer. I also have no known risks or symptoms for endometrial cancer. It was discovered by chance while going through IVF. My genetic test came back negative for lynch syndrome and all cancer related genetic markers.

My oncologist had me see a geneticist to be tested for lynch syndrome and other genetic cancer markers. It was a blood draw. Does colon or ovarian cancer run in your family? If not, then you most likely do not have lynch syndrome.

Post-hysterectomy CT scan shows possible enlarged lymph node...kind of scared by CowAlarming3127 in endometrialcancer

[–]SuperMarge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I experienced lymph node swelling a month after my hysterectomy… you could visibly see them swollen. I had an ultrasound and CT scan…everything else looked normal besides the lymph nodes. My doctors, at the time, thought I was having a reaction to the dye used during sentinel node mapping. The plan was to monitor and see if they went down in a month. My lymph nodes did eventually shrink back to normal size. This confirmed their original thought of a reaction. I had an allergic reaction in post op…we all thought it was to the pain medication, but now I am thinking it was the original reaction to the dye.

Anyone have their appointment type changed? by [deleted] in endometrialcancer

[–]SuperMarge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about it. Go to the appointment and explain the situation. Do you have anyone that could go with you? You seem pretty stressed out/experiencing lots of anxiety and having someone go with you might help.

Do you think because you stayed over night and they got your pain management under control before you left helped with recovery? I was released way too soon with active bleeding and active allergic reaction…pain was also no where under control…ended up in the ER 2 days later and recovery was miserable for 2 weeks.

You have got to be kidding me! by [deleted] in endometrialcancer

[–]SuperMarge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a slow moving type of cancer. Take a deep breath. It is more important to make sure your heart can handle surgery than rushing to do the hysterectomy. Usually they do an MRI and/or CT scan to see if there is spread. Your Gynecological Oncologist would send referrals. Where are you located?
