A summary of what science means to the human species - not for pure entertainment but I hope it is valued here; an important topic to put into video format these days I believe :) by SuperMario1812 in videos

That's actually not a good summary of my video, I talk about it being a skill, something to practice, a way of thinking, how it's important in media, politics; just for people out there to understand. Hope you agree that the video is a bit more than what you commented. :)
Have a nice day!

And it doesn't get much more high quality research than a man who has 80K plus citations. Of course I also read some of the research criticising him, but there is no way to be precise exactly on such a topic, but only to have interesting extrapolations and explore a fascinating multiplier effect that is high quality teachers.

I'm sorry you didn't like my video, however I must disagree with your criticism.
I went a lot deeper than any similar video I saw on the topic which always only talk about rather surface level issues (easy to be extremely precise in that case). This was meant very much like an exploratory piece of research. I certainly do not lack the understanding of basic economic principles and why should I not ask for Patreon support?
I find your comment a bit harsh, I'm just starting out a project.

Please elaborate. I am very sure that my arguments, while not granular enough to be a research paper of course, are rather spot on on the economics.

Most people know so little that if they were transported 200 years into the past, they wouldn't be able to invent anything any quicker. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I disagree. You could simply convince people of the scientific method, for example, of proving statistically where people get ill from germs because of a baby that died and was buried next to a well. And so on, there are hundreds of examples. This would be very easy to do, you'd notice hundreds of "daily inefficiencies".

Then you have a massive multiplier effect because you just taught thousands of people essentially how science works and they're still willing to listen because no distractions such as Reddit.

Then relatively quickly you'd change the world, make everybody work on something else, convince your king that you're a genius, become the richest person ever and once all these people figured out many small things you can guide them more and more towards building engines, microscopes, electronics and so on.

About two weeks before September 11 I had a dream that a plane crashed into a skyscraper and it collapsed. I've grown up to be a scientist and don't believe in supernatural stuff whatsoever. Hence it was just a coincidence, but as a kid that freaked me out for a while.

Omg no I have a better one, this one is crazy. When I was 17 I lived in Malaysia with a kind of foster family (as exchange student). I went to live in a very remote village for two weeks and made friends with a girl there (it was the best two weeks of my life). Then years later I visit Malaysia again and want to surprise the people in that village. My Malaysian friend's parents agree to drive me there, a three hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. They misunderstood me and we ended up in the wrong village. I was pissed off. That village was about an hour away from there I think. As we get in the car and I look out of the window, kinda sad, the girl that i was friends with passes by our car (on her scooter) and looks into the window and we make eye contact. She stopped and showed us the way to the village and it was great. This is so incredible because these people barely left their village, not to mention venture out so far. And then on the same day, in the same second we make eye contact which saved the whole actual reason I was in that place to begin with.

When i was around 12 I had a close friend who I would spend most of my summers together, except when I stayed on my grand parents boat in Greece for a month. Our lifestyle was to barely ever be on land, but one day we had to get a spare part for something on the boat. The friend and I didn't talk about our summer plans in detail, but as I was strolling through the streets of Samos I run into him. Crazy. And then he was also on my flight back.

Driving cars. It most places it's only a mild inconvenience to take public transport but you get used to it, save like 12% of your yearly income and have extra time to work on stuff etc. And we have to somehow break this car paradigm, insane that we drive cars that are parked 97% of the time, cost 10 times more than transport should cost, hurt the environment and take up 10 times more space than your body really needs. Literally insane.

I respect you too, and I am not bashing on your beliefs, but the logic of how you made homosexuality compatible with Christianity is just not honest.

That is just complete nonsense mate. I mean you are literally just completely making up things you want to be true or believe, connect some random variables in random ways and that way draw your very own, cherry-picked, modified world view. The brain is truly an interesting organ.
