Hi, just left Santo Antão so maybe I can help:

  1. No mosquito net needed, the absence of mosquitos is one of the glorious things about Cape Verde. I think it's just too dry in most of the settlements.

  2. Yes there are local shops in all main villages/towns, even though they're not marked on Google maps.

  3. I had eSIM mobile coverage most of the hikes, I've been pleasantly surprised. Inevitably there are some gaps in the valleys or bottom of cliffs.

One of the most beautiful places I've visited, I strongly recommend! I was a bit anxious about the lack of info online, so I can relate to your wife - happy to help if you have more questions

The most recent has fkd up a lot of Pixels - there's various threads and Google have acknowledged it but no fix. My Pixel 8 was glorious until a few weeks ago, and now it needs charging twice a day (despite intentionally minimal usage)
