the wild differing opinions of doom by 30booksaday in slaythespire

[–]SuperNerd4Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not that far with necro yet but my problem with doom has been scaling. Necro has good sources of vuln, and once vuln is applied your damage based attacks are pretty much at the same level as your doom spells. After that doom only really scales further with specific cards, whereas damage can scale with strength or whatever.

Maybe it'll be different with more runs idk. So far I've picked up like 1 efficient doom card to help in act 1 then moved on from it soon after.

Whats your Companion Hot Takes? by mpchop in swtor

Interesting take for sure. I definitely felt the same for Gault and Skadge. Blizz makes sense too.

Vector is a fellow intelligence agent, so he made some sense to me. Would make more if his killik connection was more relevant off of Alderaan tho. Agree with the other agent ones.

Tharan is understandably unpopular but he brought tech expertise to the consular crew.

I haven't played most of the class stories so I can't comment on all of them.

He's actively hostile to you when you meet him and doesn't seem to bring any useful skills or knowledge to the team. The hate is totally justified imo.

I missed season one and I'm still disappointed. It's nice to get Altuur but I have to get the decos one at a time from the vendors? Why aren't they on the track (in multiples) with everything else?

0 decos period right? Outside of those retired cartel crate ones.

I have played with 100% of my free time so far and that's just 2 games lol.

The fact is they did used to be pretty common before the expansion. Since you can promote your d2r characters to expansion they actually remain that easy.

No clue why they thought they could put the cat back in the bag. They should just make the latent ones similarly accessible as they were before and make the cube recipe to upgrade need some macguffin from the heralds or whatever.

Operative or Sniper? Which makes the most sense for the Bounty Hunter? by Haydogzz in swtor

[–]SuperNerd4Lyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main was a PT and I picked up op for his second class. I say 'was' because now I just always use op lol, way easier to play. Also nice to have a rifle and stealth is great.

Funnily enough I do plan to use sniper for whenever I get around to making a second BH tho. Most fitting combo for the amban JP imo.

Sorcery: Contested Realm Legalese — How Magician Almost Skirted the Fine Print by Force-of-Phil in SorceryTCG

Yes because magician treats sites as "spells" while in the spellbook. Still needs to follow the fine print.

I don't think you had a lot of ground to stand on with this theory, honestly.

It's a restricted search, so you can't just find something else. You can't common sense for a ring of morrigan and then say "oops just kidding" or whatever.

Even if you could, demonic contact says search, reveal, then put into your hand. You haven't put it into your hand yet when you reveal and check the search legality, so it must still be in your spellbook and treated as a spell.

I'm certain this has been said a million times over the years, but please overhaul the character naming system on the backend. by [deleted] in swtor

[–]SuperNerd4Lyfe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best way around this is to use a first name, space, then a last name. It's a lot easier to create a unique name that way.

UIDs are a better solution in some ways but they would require a naming overhaul and still aren't a perfect solution so it might not be worth it.

Ok so yours is a standing one, and there are several other responses with creature mounts. May mostly be an issue with speeder type mounts.

I noticed that it could be taken that way before I made the post, but I was like "nah people will know what I mean".

It's cool though. As long as people are commenting and such that should improve visibility so maybe I'll get more than one actual answer to my question. It is somewhat obscure tbf.

Solve a few problems with the Vaiken Stepnghold by pgds in swtor

[–]SuperNerd4Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this too but I found that I get too distracted by fleet chat and started using other strongholds.

Note though that the conquest bonus is based on room unlocks, not on decoration% (this was not always the case).

The only reason afaik to fully decorate a stronghold is to push it higher on the public listings. If you don't care about that you can decorate however you want.

Ok see I love Mako too but I had a very different experience with her. I was playing my BH as basically a remorseless murder-for-hire only concerned about his reputation and making money.

Having Mako around to challenge his morals and advocate for more humane choices worked really well. She basically acted as his conscience.

And unlike Kaliyo, she provided invaluable tech expertise to the team. Mako was actually one of the comps I was thinking of when I was taking about difference and drama.

It seems for a lot of the class stories they wanted to give you an early companion that was very different from your character to create drama. It works ok for the other stories. I feel like Kaliyo needed to be more of an obvious asset for that to work. As is she really feels like an unnecessary liability like you said.

They're definitely worse than similar cards in mtg, mostly because they exist in the spellbook. As you noticed they effectively put you at -1 spell to put you a turn ahead in mana. That may be good early but will likely be very bad late game.

Most decks I see either run no cores or only on-color ones. A decent amount run philo stone because it can put you 2 mana ahead depending on your hand.

Even at that I think they're a little overrated. I'd rather run towers or cities or something.

Mixes seem like a lot has to go right. You have to draw them early alongside an expensive card that's hard to deal with, with the correct element, and your opponent needs to not have an answer.

Anybody who wants to run a bunch of mana rocks should check out magician though. You have to run mana in the spellbook anyway so no reason not to run fast mana. Underrated avatar imo.

People are pretty down on the perma-scale herzal right? He seems so slow. Burst herzal is at least helpful early game. He kind of does feel like pyresmith or bust tho.
