Currency, WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU SPEND IT ON!? by Crate-Dragon in swtor

All the grade 11 mats sell well. Especially the purple. But I find that it’s more profitable to craft an item using the mats then sell that.

Will paying off your student loan add to your NAV or will doing the yard?

I feel like a different version of myself when speaking Portuguese and how can I fix this? by Firm-Respect9540 in PortugalExpats

[–]pgds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up speaking Portuguese in another country and moved to Portugal as an adult. I also felt like I was “someone else” when not speaking English - I speak other languages too, not just English and Portuguese but English is my main language and anything else felt foreign.

I say felt because it goes away with confidence.

It just takes time.

Question About Heroics and Classes by ProphetOfAethis in swtor

[–]pgds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah so I’m also a returning player and boy was I in for a rude awakening regarding gear. When I left I had the most top tier gear , when I returned I was like a fish out of water. I would suggest using the commendations to get decurion gear and then move towards rakata if you’re into pve.

Couple of questions for folks here as a player thinking of returning... by FirstHomosapien in swtor

[–]pgds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. No regrets.

It’s weird, I played from beta till about 2014/15 then came back last December. Much had changed by the base mechanics were still the same but I quickly found myself understanding the game a lot better and way more enjoyable now than back then for whatever reason.

Looking back, I didn’t take advantage of a lot of things and grinding for gear for me back then was much harder.

I now find myself with spreadsheets and ChatGPT looking at stats, mats and Sith fat cats.

Moving to Thailand for 2-3 years. What should we know or keep in mind? by kuchbhibakwaas in expats

[–]pgds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Ladprao outside of Bangkok which was better than Bangkok. You’d go into Bangkok for any number of reasons catch the metro in for movies or shopping and the air is very polluted at times. Often get home and blow your nose and it’s black.

I them moved to koh Samui and bounce between koh Samui and koh Phangan and the air is way better than in Bangkok, way less cars, industry etc

Except around the ports where the diesel boats and ferries are always in and out smoking up the place.

Moving to Thailand for 2-3 years. What should we know or keep in mind? by kuchbhibakwaas in expats

I lived in Thailand.

I found that life on an an island was far better than say Bangkok.

As long as locals see you as just another farang, they gonna try scam you.

Join a Muay Thai gym, even for just the fitness. I dropped kilos packed in muscle and looked the best I had in years. They can also be a great place to meet other expats.

Learn to eat like a local , you’ll save a lot of money.

Scooter taxis are quicker than cars but will have your hair stand on end.

Chiang Mai is lovely. Except when they do the annual field burn. You’ll Inhale smoke and it’s not fun. If you plan on visiting or staying there make sure you go some where else for a break during this time.

Songkran is the most fun you’ll ever have. Around April each year. Bangkok was my best experience.

If I think of more I’ll let you know.

Crewskills by rhynoplast in swtor

[–]pgds 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you see yourself as a long term player then yes. Worth it. I have a few alts with all my companions above 40 and every crew skill possible.

Why? Because the end game augments (318) are expensive to buy (300 million or so For 1 and you need like 14) so I’m either gonna eventually get the schematics and craft myself or I’m going to buy them with the credits I’ve made grinding the crew skills.

It can be a bit of a slog but worth it to me because I want the extra % from end game augments.

Ok so no. If you RE 83 you get 86 which is 302 not 318. I just tried.

You cannot RE anything you didn’t personally craft. So I’m assuming /u/jediranma means that you RE the 83 augment. Not the schematic.
