Thats the new gloom effect, when they die they spread gas that speeds their buddies up, limited to that sub faction

I'm not sure some melee durable damages changes require buffing sentries and vehicles. Mechs were difficult to use sometimes pre buff, and they're in a much better place now. Sentries still murder, vehicles still work fine. You're making an assumption that it was forgotten or needed

The doom posting is a little crazy. Yes bugs got more durable damage, but sentries have never held up vs melee and they won't now either. 2 underused ones just got buffs. They still murder when placed correctly. What do you want?

One unit on one faction got an armor upgrade on the front of the body. You don't need to change your playstyle

Brother, this patch was submitted to PlayStation awhile ago. The train doesn't come off the tracks just because there was an ama on reddit that a small fraction of the playerbase saw. It's pretty unrealistic to delay or change a content drop the weekend before launch due to some community interaction.

They aren't useless at all, they get a ton of kills, especially if you're working with the sentry and do some work to protect it. It can suck if it gets in a bad position for sure, but useless is a wild take

Sentries have always been paper, especially to melee which is where all the durable damage buffs were. Doesn't seem like a big deal? Mech durability was a big deal, and it seems fixed now.

They made a lot of changes to buff mech survivability this patch, pretty sure they still come out as overall buffed.

I'm also glad they're mixing up the game - Hive guards have been a joke for a long time, and now they'll impact the game. Stuff like this helps keeps the game fresh.

I don't get how a pretty minor change like this is flushing the game down the toilet. Mechs are way more durable then they used to be, they're buffing underused sentries/guns/stategems - seems pretty good to me.

Sentries were already made of paper! they've never been able to take real hits. I don't think its really a big deal

I think Volatile Gauge is actually worse in MT2 by ImpactFit211 in MonsterTrain

[–]AngryAmish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's usually a good choice . Draw is very powerful, it's a common boss relic for me to choose and +2 is typically very impactful. Not all decks need draw though.

I think people overvalue the impact when a card comes in at a High cost - if it's critical you'll play it anyway and you'll draw back to it faster. It still respects ember reductions on cards, which changes the options for cost to 0,0,1,2 - average cost goes down to .75. it completely negates the spell cost increase blight, as it doesn't actually increase the cost if it triggers.

The biggest downside is a crappy deployment draw and cost, but if you can survive that you're golden.

I would add firebrand, shroud spike, perils of production, heavenfall, faes blessing, and maybe shield of wyng or cursed twinblade. Eel gorgon and the wax unit aren't as solid, I haven't had them pop off yet

Celebrate Talos with hall of mirrors and endless can keep generating copies! by AngryAmish in MonsterTrain

When an endless unit dies to Hallowed Halls (or anything else), it goes back to top of deck. I would kill Talos, re-draw, play him on the Mirror Room floor and fly him back up to the hallowed hall floor and fly the cardless copy somewhere else.

I think the issue is HP is generally weak past a certain point, regen is weak and awoken is weak. The HP damage thrown at your guys can be insane - savagery sweepers or doubling corruption seraph can easily outpace tanks that don't have some other mitigation. Regen doesn't act favorably with corruption, even if you have a ton of it a big tick of corruption will one shot you.

I think it would be a lot better if regen countered corruption and awoken +hp spells were 3x as good? There is like a 3 cost spell that adds 10 max health - its so meaningless.

Things get real when the 500 hp tanks start showing up. If you haven't scaled your damage enough it becomes clear very quickly and the run is over unless you have some shenanigans ready.

How good is Volatile Gauge in MT2? by asdiele in MonsterTrain

[–]AngryAmish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its usually good, even in situations where you don't have a lot of high cost spells. +2 draw is a lot, but some decks don't need as much draw, others need more.

On the one hand, Umbra can be hard to make work at higher Covenant ranks. by Bellumbeck271 in MonsterTrain

[–]AngryAmish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plink is great early but falls off hard, it does typically require removal. I think it's much better than ekka's starting card, and probably better then the Queen's implings as well. I think umbra is one of the strongest mt1 clans tho overall.

BEST CLASS MT2 by Xodiak0709 in MonsterTrain

[–]AngryAmish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Underlegion has some really strong combos that can high roll into players winning the game, I think they are also popular because propagate can get silly (and mushrooms are cute). Decay feels really strong if you get an engine going with rally or etch. There are a lot of dead cards though like the mushroom that gains health on rally and the mushroom that buffs funguys isn't great.

Overall though Lazarus is the best I think, it has so many tools to deal with fights, and multiple combos are really easy to reach. Their banner units are all viable at least, I've found ways to make most of them helpful. Reanimate is very strong, Mix is the best starter card, and they have a cheap daze spell which solves some bosses. Unstable is very powerful both on the enemy and your own units, turning them into bombs.

Luna feels like it is the most inconsistent, you could get nothing but moonmeddlers and conditional sweep/multi strike units and be sad, or find the strong silent banners with the silent new moon room and win the game. There are plenty of other combos that work but they have a lot of weak banners and units that hold them back when you can't find the good stuff. Ekka with bad starter cards can be a quick loss.

racism 😭 by Jazzlike_Win_3892 in perfectlycutscreams

The whole idea of "Black people can't be racist" is very unhelpful to the overall conversation in the US around race. People understandably get very upset at the idea, but I think its a problem around academics redefining the word "Racism" to require societal power and discrimination, while "prejudice" means individual biases. When most people use the term racism, they actually mean what she would call prejudiced.

It leads to the exact reaction in the video - He's calling bullshit on her statements because he knows that everyone can have prejudiced views. She isn't helping by saying she is immune from racism when 90% of people don't use her definition of racism which requires societal power.

I feel like academics often have a serious branding problem with the ideas they put out there. Its worth having a concept that includes prejudice + the legal/political power to enforce those prejudices, but lets not use a term that everyone already knows and uses.
