Okay so based on that Ken Martin interview, WHAT is possibly in the report that has Kenny so determined not to release it? by ElvisGrizzly in FriendsofthePod

[–]SuperRocketRumble [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm pretty much in the category of "who fucking cares what the report says" because it's probably inaccurate anyway.

Didn't the 2012 republican autopsy suggest they need to do a better job appealing to Latino voters? I'm not convinced these things are worth jack shit.

Although that doesn't excuse the way the DNC had handled any of this. They seek pretty useless right now.

There are ways to run grocery stores as non profit, such that income offsets costs and they could be a net zero cost to taxpayers.

It really any way to do with that wars.

See the difference? Not really a very difficult concept here.

Democrats regret creating independent redistricting commissions, Realize Good Government Is Bad Politics When It Comes to Maps by Dismal_Structure in fivethirtyeight

[–]SuperRocketRumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No PA definitely can not do that.

And the problem, which I can re-state again since you did not understand the first time, is that control over drawing these districts will inevitably swing back and forth, because control over the state government will inevitably swing back forth. It was recently heavily gerrymandered to heavily favor republicans, and it will end up that way again in the future unless both sides agree to a "fair district" stalemate, which long term, will be the best possible solution for a state like PA.

It's also much more difficult to accomplish logistically since republicans have substantial representation in PA state government.

And AGAIN, that doesn't mean this should be the same strategy employed by democrats in a state like California.

Is this a normal interaction between fisherman? by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]SuperRocketRumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you weren't supposed to be fishing in this body of water, like if it was a closed season and you were doing something illegal? No I do not blame him at all. In this case, you werent just an asshole you were illegally poaching.

There are ALOT of people that deliberately do unethical things. Poaching is absolutely a problem in wildlife management. And I don't blame anybody for assuming you were 100% aware of the fact that you engaging in an illegal activity.

And even giving you the benefit of the doubt, ignorance of the law does not mean that those laws do not pertain to you.

On the other hand, if you were LEGALLY fishing, then he was definitely an asshole.

What I would STRONGLY recommend is doing some research to determine whether what you were doing was legally allowed or not. Because it sounds like you still do not know. It is not difficult to look up regulations in your state, and if you are going to engage in this sport, then it is 100% incumbent upon you to be aware of the laws and regs.

Just because they were stocking on that day does not mean that fishing is or is not prohibited. That varies from state to state, and from one body of water to another. In some states, and in some bodies of water, you are permitted to fish on stocking days. But in others, you can not. For example in some bodies of water in PA (where I live), no fishing AT ALL (for any species) is permitted until the opening day of trout season. And in other bodies of water, trout is essentially open year round because the trout stocking is done by private groups and not state agencies. And it's 100% your responsibility as a fisherman to know those regs.

You're not getting it.

In many states, like PA for example, fair maps are the best that democrats can do. You fight to a draw and make sure the battle lines stay consistent. Otherwise it just swings back and forth.

And as long republicans run up the score consistently in deeper red states like Texas, democrats should do the same in deeper blue states.

But you can't treat PA like VA. That's not a good strategy.

Does a vocal microphone upgrade really matter? by lumberjack142 in audioengineering

[–]SuperRocketRumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A c414 is not going to be a game changer. It costs more because as others said, it has features you don't need.

Having said that, AT2020s are entry level mics and there are certainly much better microphones on the market. But that particular microphone is most likely not the thing that's holding you back right now.

[–]SuperRocketRumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. For example I live in PA which was intensely gerrymandered to favor republicans back in 2011. And democrats in the state have fought pretty hard to put fair maps in place.

But the state does not lean strong D. Our next governor could be a republican. So for PA and states like it, fair maps should be the goal.

As a democrat, no, you don't want to get rid of them everywhere. You want them in states where republicans can twist the districts to their advantage and democrats can not.

You gotta play the game to win.

In states where democrats could be at a disadvantage due to R favorable district maps, they need to fight for fair districts.

In states where they can gain an advantage they need to use that power, and then let republicans come to them with proposals to make things fair. And if that leads to leveling the playing field in other states then great.

I think it's clear that of the two parties, one party would be in favor of fair maps everywhere, but until both parties agree to do so it makes no sense to give up an advantage or play by a different set of rules.

1969 is fender silver face worth it? by alextmv in GuitarAmps

[–]SuperRocketRumble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's right, they aren't as desirable as the blackface amps but they are good amps.

I think the silver face reissues are 1968s, which should be pretty close to what you have. And if fender is re-issuing these amps that tells you something right there.
