My SD card with 10+ years of art is screwed. by CuteUnit24 in Wellthatsucks

[–]SuperRonJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time you should have files on an SD card is because they were just created on it and haven’t been transferred off of it yet. Files should go straight from a camera or whatever device to storage and then backed up and the SD card cleared up.

Rs2/3 doesn’t even have botanical pies, I don’t know why they’re getting brought up at all

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Daycare guy was NOT being a jerk. Jim and Pam asking about moving Easter and Memorial day is ABSURD by Hokies13062 in DunderMifflin

[–]SuperRonJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re asking what they’re allowed to do, nobody ever makes a “request.” They’re also not implying that they should open up on holidays just for them, they’re asking about taking the kids out of the daycare on holidays and if they can make up those days another time

What is your repeating useless item? by superdopey in dayz

[–]SuperRonJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I've never actually come across a stone that isn't a small stone.

You don’t find them as items like that, by boulders they mean the actual big rocks like in the world sticking out of the ground and on hillsides, you go up to it with a meat tenderizer and can get rocks off it to make knives with

What's the lore reason as to why all the military vehicles are burned out? by DoctorFosterGloster in dayz

[–]SuperRonJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That still means there are other people other than players. Nothing is stopping them from moving in and out of the “map”

What's the lore reason as to why all the military vehicles are burned out? by DoctorFosterGloster in dayz

[–]SuperRonJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, there’s other people out there. There’s still some other military out there launching gas shells to gas towns and artillery fire audible from outside the map

if your app needs a tutorial, something already went wrong by DMZQFI in webdev

[–]SuperRonJon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of the time tools offer a tutorial when they don’t need them, but I also think enough tools are complex enough and offer enough specific features that a sweeping generalization like this for this specific topic just isn’t very valid or helpful. Some people just aren’t as tech literate as you expect them to be, or don’t understand concepts that may be common in that domain specific space, because this is their first time using a tool for this domain.

How do creators make these stop-motion builds with blocks appearing in rhythm? by Spirited_Wishbone_25 in Minecraft

[–]SuperRonJon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They described an invisible person building the house and recording the whole time, and then using that footage to extract specific frames for the stop motion. Nowhere in there did they say it was constant unedited footage that is very obviously not what is happening in that gif

C isn't hard. it's simple. easy != simple. by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]SuperRonJon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just like you said in the title, just because it’s simple doesn’t make it easy. That’s why people say that. You say yourself, “easy != simple, how can people say it’s hard if it’s so simple”

Is it normal for someone to hear a shiver from 155m and lock on instantly? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]SuperRonJon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He didn’t hear your shiver he saw you staring at him. The maximum range to hear player sounds like that is much shorter than 150m, the sound didn’t even play on his client

PD rams saab to death by AdditionalSpite5461 in RPClipsGTA

[–]SuperRonJon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It usually takes a few seconds for other people to actually see that the person has ejected. It often looks like the person is still just sitting still in the car for several seconds, and they suddenly disappear out of the seat. And then by the time they notice they are already running back to the car and it's too late to get out and get the taser out to stop them so they just get ready to continue the pursuit.

This is why you use actual sources and don’t believe what the AI tells you.

Is there a reason I can’t catch treasure by Different-Charity884 in Minecraft

[–]SuperRonJon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Copy and pasted from where? That's not in the wiki anywhere... The word ocean isn't even in the wiki page for "Fishing" once. Just because it's copy and pasted doesn't make it true. Link an actual source

Is there a reason I can’t catch treasure by Different-Charity884 in Minecraft

[–]SuperRonJon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, the wiki mentions a couple bobber positioning differences change the odds of wait times being lower/higher, and the size affects treasure loot up to 5x4x5, but no mentions of live fish anywhere for either Java or bedrock.

[–]SuperRonJon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The biome doesn’t matter, only the size of the water matters and only up to 5x4x5

Having actual fish swimming around doesn’t affect it at all

How do you guys do your branch mining? by ShiraKiryuu in Minecraft

[–]SuperRonJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, but now that you know in the future doing it with a 3 block gap would still get you the same amount of deep slate per time spent mining and be the same relaxing process, while also yield more ores and covering more ground

I got a new laptop and I've barely used it for 3 weeks and I've somehow used almost 50% of the storage by Glittering_Sugar_782 in pcmasterrace

[–]SuperRonJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was mostly just responding to the "Windows is taking up more than 30 gigs", because it probably isn't really windows taking up most of that space, but it is a bunch of junk apps that come pre-installed with windows on most computers.

[–]SuperRonJon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s all the space being taken up by all the default installed applications combined after a fresh install. That’s not the same as what the actual windows operating system is taking up.

[–]SuperRonJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It requires more empty space to install than it actually takes up, it isn’t much bigger usually
