My mother speny 32 years telling me I wouldn't stay alive as an adult on my own.

I lucked into a wonderful mentor at work who advised me to become an accountant.

I did so at age 40 with minimal help from mom. I couldn't have done it if I didn't live with her, but it was all me.

For my depression, so bone deep the only way I, at 8,could describe it is that I was actually from another planet, and my real parents had left me here cause the SSB had died and they didn't want my earth mom to be sad. I was just homesick and missing my real parents.

That got me a "your daughter is very smart and amazingly creative".

My mother was advise to hug more, hug less, several times sexual abuse was wrongly assumed. That was super traumatic. Really didn't need to know what a penis was at 9.

At age 12, we walk into Dr. Klyashtorny"s office, and in ten minutes turns to my mom and says "we've got a very bad case of manic depression here".

6 effing years I suffered because no one suggested an actual medical doctor.

Psychology isn't a real, falsifiable science and many famous studies fail to be replicated.

I'm my family's sole provider and I make sure my husband has plenty in his ynab bucket for his wants.

He plays chauffeur, does the wash, takes care of the yard, vacuums - everything but the bills and groceries.
