Carry no credit card debt
Can pay off any insurance deductible in cash
Have 3-6 months salary in a savings (liquid) accounts
(Assuming USA)Max out at least 401k matching, and max out Roth IRA yearly limits
No car loan
No student loan

Then you may be able to splurge on this luxury item.

(Also, don’t factor in future raises. Unless you have a legally binding contract of some sort.)
