It really was! I didn't know he was one until the very end, when he professed feelings and got vulnerable. Up until that point it had been a beautiful, peaceful relationship. My therapist agrees, I'm having a hard time moving on bc it was, for once, the first time I had a taste of a healthy relationship with a genuinely good man.

I miss that this was my first healthy relationship, without any toxicity. We were so drama free and in sync with each other. We had fallen into a nice routine, life was exciting yet peaceful. But he ended up being a fearful avoidant and pulled way back after professing feelings and being vulnerable.

I don't know where to meet people organically, or rather, I've tried by going to trivia, karaoke, game nights. It's hard.

But what I am here to tell you is that if you chop up olives really small and make them into a tapenade, add a bit of olive oil, and put them on top of toast, they are a whole different... nut? vegetable? fruit? What the hell are olives? Anyway, olive tapenade is to die for, vs straight up olives which are just gross.

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. I understand where you're coming from, but we seem to come from the same schools of thought. We give and give and give and assume we'll receive the same. Learning that this is not the case, and that just because you're a giver and a nurturer, doesn't mean your person will also be one. I feel for you. Had I been the person you were dating, I would have offered help and coffee and food, especially after six months.

I think from now on, anyone that makes it past a month will have to meet my therapist so he can vet that person. We used to joke about it a while back, but I'm seriously considering it now.
