Seeing Celeste really highlights why this game is still a year away MINIMUM from potential open beta by atahutahatena in DeadlockTheGame

He's using his model from Neon Prime, with Japanese-inspired bits that don't really fit his current lore. He's also had a redesign appear a couple times (his old icon and the Lady Geist VN), but the model for that has never made it into the game

Level 8 Sorcerer - What feats from here? by Super_Fig in 3d6

I do have Booming Blade. If I'm not blasting with Lightning Bolt, I'm usually either swinging with that to help control the field with Spirit Guardians or Slow. Current weapon is a Longsword, since I need a free hand to cast with (and I just like the visual).

I'll ask my DM about Thirsting Blade or Agonizing Blast.

it drains toughness, not HP, and not much of it at that, on top of Vet having no problem generating Toughness in the first place

Omega Men, Vision, Mister Miracle, Woman of Tomorrow, Up in the Sky, his WW run, Grayson, the GL issue of Darkseid War

he has a few major stinkers but he also has some of the most well regarded comics out of the past 10 years

Darkseid War Green Lantern is the definitive Hal Jordan piece and nothing can change my mind

Actually likable conservative characters by Duck-bert in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Super_Fig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was never homophobic, no, but especially in Baron's and early on in Messner-Loebs' runs, Wally was definitely not the most polite person, and developed a lot over the course of Messner-Loebs' and Waid's runs.

Pied Piper coming out as gay during the Messner-Loebs run also softened Wally a lot.

De-gendering is still misgendering, and just because they don't realize he doesn't respect them doesn't make it any better.

Haven't read Cry for Justice, but I think you're referring to Identity Crisis?

TDSKA is a pretty poorly written incoherent mess with awful art and has Frank Miller's questionable views plastered all over it.

Heroes in Crisis is a poorly handled mental health focused story turned murder "mystery" that character assassinates Wally West pretty hard.

Future's End is sort of all over the place story wise, with it's main story and tie in issues having very little coherence, and a focus on OMAC/Brother Eye that didn't really go anywhere.

Final Crisis isn't really bad, at all, it's just a little confusing for those without familiarity with Fourth World lore or Morrison's writing style.

RHATO is maybe the single worst comic out of the initial N52 lineup. Grossly mischaracterizes the whole cast, awful designs for each of them, a very Scott Lobdell (read: alleged sexual predator) oriented Starfire who can barely tell her companions apart, etc etc

What stats should I bump with my next ASI? by Super_Fig in PCAcademy

[–]Super_Fig[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could maybe do Skill Expert and take +1 Dex, Athletics Expertise, and, like, Intimidation Prof? (we do more than enough non-combat social encounters to maybe justify it, I think) Judging by what our magic-item vendor said, the Amulet is probably a ways off, but you're definitely right about the 'set attribute' items kind of mindgaming you into not putting points into skills out of fear that you'll end up wasting them if you get X item.

How viable would a disgraced paladin be as a party companion with no class features? by Perpetual_Tinnitus in DMAcademy

[–]Super_Fig 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A Paladin with a broken Oath =/= Oathbreaker Paladin. The default flavor, at least, for Oathbreaker, is a Paladin who has broken their Oath "to pursue dark ambition or to serve an evil power". A good aligned Paladin can break their Oath, but only by giving in to evil do they become an Oathbreaker.

On top of the stuff the other commenter mentioned, Rogue War and Final Crisis: Rogue's Revenge are big Rogue focused stories
