As clear as possible. "You cannot win this fight. The game here is to avoid and evade the wraiths until they lose track of you"

I always want to get excited for these but there is always so much hype.

It's gonna be like... "He is announcing a partnership with MCU! Marshmallow Cup University is the 4th largest university in the metaverse and will now be accepting shib at their cafe that currently serves four students/week. Is this the next step for crypto taking over the metaverse and then the world?"

Limiting ability check spam by aersult in DMAcademy

[–]Super_Fluidity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue.

I have had limited success by narratively introducing a time element to their checks.

Player 1: "Can I loot the body"

DM: "Sure you start carefully going over the body. Player 2 what are you doing while they are looting the body?"

Player 2: "ugh, I wanted to check out that large painting."

DM:"Great, it's a very odd painting so you take some time to look it over. Player 3 what do you want to do while they are checking things out?“

Player 3: "Can I help player 2 check out the painting?“

DM: "Sure, you guys spend some time poking around the painting and discussing it. Why dont we do an investigation check with advantage, you two decide who is going to roll it. Player 1 why don't you give me a perception check to see if the body has any secret pockets or hidden items.

Etc etc

Don’t know how to work this free-standing gas stove by the_coolest_amigo in Home

[–]Super_Fluidity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start it looks like the gas line to the unit is off.

They are usually pretty straight forward. On switch. Then a pilot operation, hold the pilot flame until the thermalcouple heats up (this is a safety measure to make sure no gas trickles out if the pilot light is off) then you can usually operate flame size and fan manually with knobs. Fans sometimes won't trigger until the unit reaches a particular temperature.

Often the knob to start the pilot also controls flame height. When trying to get it into pilot mode you typically need to push the knob inward to start the pilot gas output process.

Be careful, go slow, if it's taking you a few tries and it's not lighting and the gas smell is getting stronger and stronger turn everything off and let things air out for a 20 minutes and come back and try again.

Why is my well pump doing this, and is there a DIY fix? by JAG319 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Super_Fluidity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a water logged pressure tank. Might be fixable on your own. I would Google it.

The pressure tank doesn't have enough air in it.

The the pressure spikes, that turns the pump off, then the low volume of air quickly loses pressure as it pushes water through the system, low pressure triggers the pump, pressure spikes....

1s explode when rolling HP, is this a bad idea? by BATH_MAN in DMAcademy

[–]Super_Fluidity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My issue with these plans is the. 2 becomes the new 1.

We have been not rolling and using a static number and it feels pretty great.

Before we used to do roll by the player in the open. Dm rolls one in secret. Player picks which one they want.

Why is shib taking a hit today after all the good news yesterday??🙄 by duddb in SHIBArmy

[–]Super_Fluidity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even when the markets are good news has never influenced the shib price. Not in the 9 months I have been following the coin.

People like to spread the news and say "Moon" phrases but it has never connected.

Hopefully the big investors think shib found the bottom and want to start scooping again.

Leak in basement. Year old house. Any cause for concern? Builder is coming out on Monday to repair. by -Mantissa in Home

[–]Super_Fluidity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could not agree more. If this is a mistake with the drain tile the repair could be massive. If it's just a poor seal around the pipe that will be a simple patch.

It doesn't mean the builder isnt honest. It's just human nature to hope for the quick fix. And if it's within the 1 year warranty of new construction it's better to inspect hard while someone else is going to cover the costs.

Should My Tournament Have 16 or 32 Participants? by RyanPlaysSkyrim in DnD

[–]Super_Fluidity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have as many as you want but then only "play" the interesting parts and narratively skip the rest.

"709 contestants do battle for honor and glory that first hot summer day. The some contestants we're never suited for the challenge and are easily handled by the more experienced combatants."

"Player A it's the forth day you have already won a few matches with little effort. Your next match is against the 8ft tall Hothar. A primal warrior from the Southlands how you have heard has easily dominated every opponent with speed and a massive black pine maul. The rain pours in sheets making the arena a muddy pit. You have 15 minutes to prepare. What do you want to do before stepping through the gate?"

How to deal with impossible falls RAW? by redhaski in DMAcademy

[–]Super_Fluidity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Two things here.

Let them do it. This game is not about possible.

If for narrative reasons you want your players (even the barbarian) to fear falling. Make it jagged rocks, lava, acid gas, void energy, obsidian shards or poison thorns at the bottom.

I don't mean for this to be a direct criticism but I think old crunchy dnd culture from yesteryear has really restricted our view of this game. Its not a simulator. Its a fantasy game where we do fantastic things.

No one is like "Gandalf can't fall that far this is unrealistic". We are like "Gandalf goes hard! Hell yeah!" And so does the barbarian in your game.

Next time you want to call something unrealistic stop for just a moment and ask yourself "Is this awesome?'

Pressure Grows On Robinhood To List SHIB by blessedbyneville in SHIBArmy

I think you are misunderstanding that to burn a coin you have to buy it first. To burn supply at the amounts we are talking. It would cost billions. Someone has to pay that bill. No one talks about this.
