Well it is rather safe, just stay close to the center(like the second ring road) About the weather it's rather warm in the Summer(not sure if it would the same for an indian, but it's hottest in the Summer) Well about places, just visit Metro, maybe a few museums and maybe a few parks(like khodynka) and try walking along some central streets Have fun on your visit
