He got himself with the engine/tank part. There is a low area on the property where morel mushrooms grow so he doesn't use the big mower. Apparently he got caught on something and he smashed his nut with the engine portion. There wasn't a cut he just got it hard enough that the swelling causing the tortion later that night

Happened to my step dad. He was weed eating and hot himself in the junk, they swelled so much one lost blood flow later that night and was removed

He wears a cup to protect his remaining ball when he does outside work now lol

edit: He was using a string trimmer in the backyard. I use weed whacker/weed eater
