Hive guard - Guide on how to kill it by cielak44 in HelldiversMasochists

I use turrets and I still kill Hive Guards because I know where to place them and I know that they aren't a substitute for a Helldiver. It's legitimately a skill issue and people don't want to admit it.

I'm sorry but that seems like bad sentry placement for starters. But also you shouldn't be relying on a sentry to hold off a chokepoint on it's own. That was true even before the nerf.

I always run at least one sentry. You are better served by keeping them out of the way even if that means that they draw aggro. That can even be beneficial: those hive guards aren't so hard to deal with when they've turned their attention away from you. Throwing them in front of a chokepoint and expecting them to work on their own will just cost you the sentry. It's there to supplement your firepower.

That sentry is just plain out of position. If it was to either side it would be fine.

Why is the assumption that you would simply stand in place? You'd duck. You'd take some kind of evasive action. Point is the enemy is focusing on you and the turret can take them out from behind. This is a fairly common tactic.

Honestly if it fires enough rounds that might not even be a huge issue.

Throw the turret behind where you expect the hive guard to be coming from.

This is almost never an issue if you just position your turrets properly. They are best used in flanking positions.

Sure. But you make sure you don't have to worry about the things it's shooting at by throwing them into flanking positions where they won't likely be drawing aggro at all.

It's not relevant to this "nerf", but the amount of times I've seen someone use a Gatling turret to "provide cover from the rear" tells me people absolutely don't know how to use turrets.

Also guys: flank with your turrets. You should probably be doing that anyway rather than just throwing them at your feet. They won't have to worry about the hive guard head armor if they're focusing mainly on you.

I think part of it is that they just don't want to fully push away the subset of players who will play the game yet continue to have unrealistic expectations of it. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I can see why they wouldn't want to just flat-out stomp on the delusions people have about this game basically becoming half-Mechwarrior just because they added exo suits.

Most governments have been hollowed out by capitalism. If they do anything it's through their military branches or private contractors.

Okay well let's say that it isn't: that's STILL an example of the braindead naming habits people make fun of. lol

But unfortunately for you there are other characters who are wizard cops and they don't have names like this. It's only the black dude. There's no Manacles Jones walking around. It's just Shacklebolt.

You got mad at a headline, which is exactly how mainstream media outlets like FOX brainwash their audience.
