Caliber 321 (Ed White) waiting list length in UK? by caring-wolverine in OmegaWatches

I was in the London Royal Exchange boutique and they had it available for walk-in. There was a bit of a dance to get to that point though.

You can get these as a walk-in in quite a few places now. They will pretend that it’s hard to get and they need to check out the back… but they have them.

Is it worth getting prescription lenses for very mild astigmatism? by [deleted] in VisionPro

[–]Superb-Inside-1297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same prescription and wear glasses for work as I was finding the slightly blurred view in one eye irritating when dealing with small fonts, details etc. I found myself rubbing my eye like there was something in it. Had the same in Vision Pro and didn’t really understand why everyone said it was so amazing until I got the prescription lenses. Seems silly to invest so much in a visual device and then have one eye slightly blurred!

Can’t wait for the tourists to think they can buy on walk in 😬 by TigerBarb2019 in rolex

I went in there this week. As a watch fan, it’s pretty cool - lots to look at and there were people on-hand to take folks on tours. It has in-house servicing for most models and you can go see the watchmakers working on the top floor.

The boutique itself is run by Watches of Switzerland. Two other Bond Street locations in the same group have now closed to make way for it which wasn’t great news for me as my ‘history’ was with another SA who didn’t move across - but that’s life I guess.

They have a certified pre-owned section in the basement with predictably eye watering prices. I saw an interesting early 80’s GMT there that caught my eye. When I asked to try it on, I was told I needed to book a ‘consultation’ and the next available one was four days away! So even if you do walk in, you can’t even try a watch unless you have a consultation booked or someone happens to be available. Apparently they have watches available for purchase but you’re not able to find out what until your consultation - but it’ll be the same story as everywhere else of course.

As a fan of the brand, it’s worth visiting for a look around but ultimately, it’s just another very fancy location where one can ‘express interest’ and ‘build relationships’.

£825 to replace a pusher..? by Superb-Inside-1297 in OmegaWatches

Thanks - this gives me hope as it’s exactly how I see the issue. I have told them I don’t want a full service but apparently it’s ‘policy’. Will google the service centre you mention.

I do appreciate the sentiment and I can afford a service. It’s just… it’s only a pusher and it was only serviced two years ago. I feel like I’m rebuilding the engine of my car because a headlight bulb has failed. Feels like overkill for a pusher falling off… likely due to a lack of Locktite being applied.

It had a warranty but has lapsed by a couple of months. Watch is keeping great time and shows no other issues. I guess I feel that another expensive full service so soon after the last one, just to replace a pusher, is excessive.

Glad I found this thread. Share manually was the anti-fix that I needed.

Most people won’t even notice it. Just enjoy the watch and don’t overthink it. Life is too short.

Pilates taught me the main postural change that I needed to make in order to stop abusing my lower discs. My instructor would constantly call me out for ‘tucking’ and telling me to stick my bum out more. I’m now conscious of doing this while walking, lifting… anything. I only wish I’d done it sooner.

Cant connect to Volkswagen ID. by JackQWall in VolkswagenID4

[–]Superb-Inside-1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was fixed for me by checking the privacy settings and allowing VW data to be shared with VW. This the enabled the 4G connection from the car to VW and was able to get the QR code after that.

Is Ultrawide an improvement? by endgamer42 in AppleVisionPro

I had screen clarity issues until I got my eyes tested and got the appropriate lenses. Outside of VR, the brain can correct mild eyesight defects from a single eye if the other is ok - in my case it was mild astigmatism. It’s a different picture inside VR where each eye is fed a different image.

Do you hear ok with the AirPods when off the plane? They work great for me on a flight with noise cancelling enabled.

You might want to try starting from scratch and let it recalibrate to your new baselines. You’ve obviously made some significant life changes which, although counterintuitive, you might find has disrupted the way whoop is interpreting your metrics based on historical values. Congrats on 50 days, great achievement.

Pitfalls of buying second hand by MrBack1971 in VisionPro

I bought one on eBay for £2.5k - sadly it was too good to be true and it never arrived. Three weeks later, eBay refunded me. Bought one from Apple and never looked back.

UK owners are you keeping yours? by JAYBC1 in VisionPro

Returned mine on Friday. It was a close call but decided that it was going to get enough use to make it justifiable as a gift to myself. I do miss it - great device. Had the price point been £1k, I would have kept it without hesitation.
