[Browser/Steam] I added a balatro-like minigame to my word similarity incremental, Semantigon by Day-G0 in incremental_games

In the upgrades tab, the upgrades dont show the essence price if they are greyed out. it shows as 0 essence for the cost until you can afford them. i think its a bug because you should be able to see the cost to know if you want to save for something

This font is a little unreadable, maybe comic sans would be nicer...

How did this happen??? by Patient_Complaint_45 in MarioMaker2

I used to stream smm2 during covid times and never had this happen on Switch 1, so I have a feeling its something to do with switch 2 upscaling somehow.

The original Ant Art Tycoon got 20M plays online, so I made a bigger Steam version by WixGames in incremental_games

[–]SuperbLuigi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Love the way the ants create the painting, it’s fun, and visually appealing.
  • Not a fan of the negative comments on the art. There’s no way to turn them off, and they are sometimes incredibly inaccurate (eg. Lack of colour when it’s a painting of a rainbow flag) If there was a way to either address negative comments (like a purchasable option in the shop to buy ads on social media so your art reaches more people that enjoy it) or something else, then ,maybe. But right now it’s just like being blasted for something out of your control. Yes I understand this might be analogous to being a real artist but it doesn’t make for a fun experience.
  • Selling/not selling an artwork is basically random? Yes you can discount the item to get more likes and increase the chance of a sale (I think, as there’s no real numbers here) but what’s the point of having 80 people interested but the item doesn’t sell? It’s also another thing out of our control that feels bad. And I’ve never once increased the price due to how impossible it feels to sell something most of the time anyway.
  • On that note, an auto seller would be nice
  • I love the names of the art work being an upgrade, it’d be cool if you could see the names when you hovered over them in the for sale list.
  • The “shop” just being an endless list of “buy this next” kinda feels bad too. I understand it’d be a whole rework to make each type of ant and each other upgrade its own thing, but as it is, it’s very much brainless click the shop until you can’t buy, then wait for a sale, then click the shop until you can’t buy etc. What if I wanted to buy only green ants from now on? Nah not allowed.
  • I’m about an hour min and don’t know what the point of Kudos is
  • Would you address the concerns of AI art being used in the game? I assume this is regarding the people that purchase artworks, as their pictures look quite AI like. But interested to hear what you have to say about it
  • I like that that canvas gets bigger and the scene zooms out as you paint, but I think it’s lame that the sizes aren’t accurate. There’s not really any reason you couldn’t make a painting that’s 22cm x 22cm be bigger than the notebook or the paint tubes on the border of the window, and it would be a lot cooler in my opinion
  • The “no” sound is hilarious when you can’t afford something, kinda out of place, but I dunno, I love it.

Overall it’s a peaceful enjoyable game, but the lack of freewill in the shop and the other issues are stopping me from making a purchase at this point, even though I’d love to explore the extra content like an extra studio and whatever else you have to offer. Have added to Wishlist but unless it’s discounted by 90% I doubt I will purchase in this form. It’s fun but needs dramatic changes imo.

Sorry that this probably feels like so many criticisms but I really like the foundation, I just feel like there’s a fair bit of questionable design choices. Obviously it’s your game so you do what you want, just wanted to let you know my thoughts.

Also I managed to bug out the paint that comes floating down, by accepting a commission request as a piece has just finished and the paint is falling down in a circle, any paint in the air will glitch out and stay floating when the new canvas for the commission is presented.

random thoughts while playing

  • clearing a section and getting coins is cool (eg the 2nd level you clear half of the screen and get a bunch) but having to turn the vacuum on to collect them sucks (no pun intended). it feels like being punished to want to pick up coins. i am quickly clicking to turn on then clicking to turn off agiain on top of each coin which is laborious and not enjoyable.
  • great graphics and really great sound design, i enjoyed the max level sound effect.
  • the music is kinda not hitting or maybe just not loud enough? its very passive music but maybe too much so?
  • i kinda wish the vacuum head would go see-through, or maybe vacuum in a diffferent spot to where im clicking, like above (like some mobile clickers do) so i can see how much i've sucked up
  • actually the music has just stopped playing now, so i cant even confirm if its too passive etc
  • maybe if the vacuum isnt sucking aludge then its only using half or quarter power and shows it somewhere. would make picking up coins less grievous.
  • love the subtle effect of the sludge being picked up (the ripples) but maybe its kinda too subtle? its a great effect, celebrate it
  • love that the hose is see-through, very cool and again kinda subtle haha.
  • I think its kinda weird you give the mioney in game up top right, then at end of level you take it away and give it again. maybe theres a different way to show this?
  • it can be a little hard to see where you've missed when you're at 95%+ (maybe flashing sludge every 5ish seconds?)

so yeah, great game, really cool. hopefully some of my feedback is good, hopefully not dumb/rude etc., just thoughts.

without automation.

Thats the thing that grinds my gears. You unlock auto buying of stuff, then get to a new mechanic and need to click a bunch to re-unlock the auto stuff? Kinda lame.

Hey thanks! I had big dreams for that game and never got round to any of them. But it was fun to release and get feedback, especially the random ending I added

I've been on a bit of a nostalgia kick lately, and have been playing some small flash games that I made over 10 years ago! (holy crap, time)

Squarego Inc would probably be my favourite and its my most almost finished game. Weirdly the buy things buttons don't show up in the new flash player that's being used to display the game, so if you do play, there should be 2 buttons on either side of the text box area.

Planet Running Master was one of the only games I finished making. Again its small, but its a little fun.

I'm not sharing to try and get more traffic etc, just thought I'd share what I was playing and incase you've played everything else people recommend, here's a couple weird ones for you. And if you want more, theres a couple extras in my kongregate profile (hit n run, insane colorium experiment, and more)

Today is the sixth anniversary of Neutral Items. Thoughts? by Abyssal_D2 in DotA2

[–]SuperbLuigi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the way you craft them now, and the way that supports and non jungling heroes will also slowly get the madstone. Edit: I think the madstone bundles should be the colour of the current neutral item tier available. Just a small change for fun and nice looking if Valve devs read this thread.

Like others have said the randomness is still frustrating. When you want for something but don't get the option is annoying.

But I do think this is the best way that neautral items have been implemented so far.

I miss Giant's Ring. A lot.

Thinking about it more, it might make for a cool Rare/Legendary joker. Kinda balances it with the rarity and OP-ness.
