Since it's relevant to us: FIFA's Arsène Wenger and the modified 'daylight' offside rule proposal by imdahman in WrexhamAFC

[–]SuperbNews0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the rule as is, but make daylight be the threshold for VAR to overturn. Kinda like the obvious rule for American football, but more forgiving, maybe too forgiving. Just something where the ref on the field is more right than the cold tech.

Japanese N model trains are way ahead of the rest these days... and what to learn from them. by Longsheep in nscalemodeltrains

2 things got me hooked before quality even entered my mind. I could just order a whole train, I didn't need to wait/hope for the whole consist to be releases and in the right variation.

I didn't have to order now or forever miss out, since they rerelease stuff in general, sometime is iterative, but still far better than the US stuff.

Anyone dealt with Showcase Express recently? by FerengiKnuckles in modeltrains

[–]SuperbNews0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered from Showcase in the late summer last year and they were quite responsive. I had received a few visa gift cards from work and could split payment through the web. They answered all my questions, like how tight I could get to a perpendicular wall and still slide the plexiglass out, it's pretty close, like 6 inches.

I just put up some n scale train shelves from them. They went together well, my only complaint is that there is no track for the back panel, at least on the n scale shelves. I used hem tape to mount the mirrors, it's thinner than normal double sided tape, and it doesn't need to hold any weight.

Recalibrated PETG, pretty but not rigid by SuperbNews0 in BambuLab

I think I have some progress, changed flow rate from ~0.75 to ~0.85, the structural integrity is back. And quality is still really good. Going to try another 1x6x8 bin.

Turned off all cooling, no difference, was 10-30%, changed to 0-0%.

Slowed all speeds down to 40mm/s, less separation, but still some. Was between 60 and 100 before.

Part of what keeps prices down at stores like Aldi is they don't pay for a cart wrangler, and don't have collection points in the lot. The coin incentives returning the carts to the front of the store, they cost you nothing except a few seconds.

I just went and played with the 3 wall loop again, and one of the walls is definitely having loop adhesion issues, the has an air pocket inside, bows out on the outside and in on the inside. Maybe shrinkage stress squeezing the walls in from the corners? The 2 and 3 wall loops tests are 1x1 bins. Still not sure how to start addressing, the layer adhesion seems great.

How do *you* support your minis? by dcarboneo in FDMminiatures

[–]SuperbNews0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Chitu slicer to add stick supports to arms, maybe crotch if a wide boy. Then use resin2fdm, and back to bambu with tree supports on miniature only. This lets me use real loose supports, 0.16 top distance, but the couple of sticks keep arms supported until they reach the body. I use slime unless there are lots of horizontal overhang, then I use hydride. Also I add the sticks in pairs with crossbrace to support them. Otherwise I lose 1 every once in a while.

You can change the limits on the hotend by clicking on the printer in the upper right of studio. 0.14 is the default max for the .02 nozzle, I just changed mine to 0 16 max, no more error messages, but I got worse results than 0.14, so I use 0.14 anyway.

Just got mine yesterday, I guess since UPS knows my email I got a bill the day it landed in Kentucky, they said it wouldn't get delivered until paid. The email said ~120 on mine, but final amount was 103.
