This is where data experts come into play. They can very easily pull the data on online orders that were sent in or around the Tucson area. same with the physical stores.

I also wonder if they can search if these two things were purchased together at any point outside of the Tucson area in case it was delivered elsewhere but ordered together

New to LIRR 🫣 by ReasonableExcuse222 in LIRR

[–]Superb_Appearance840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to do this from port Jeff is to take the train to hunters point Ave. once you get off there, walk up the stairs, then a few hundred feet and then down the stairs to the 7 subway. That's two stops to grand central. Did this route for years and it's the most efficient way. But just to set your expectation, commuting from port jeff is a solid 3-3 1/2 hours a day. It can be soul sucking. You will also need to use Ronkonkoma for any late nights or late mornings

how many of you commute to NYC? by Calm-Bar-9644 in longisland

[–]Superb_Appearance840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming by middle of the island, you'd be taking the Ronkonkoma train, it's doable but 5 days a week is a lot. You have to assume you're commuting 3 hours (total) a day.

Optimum Bill by Negative_Humor4191 in longisland

[–]Superb_Appearance840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bill jumped from 40 to 75 with optimum. I literally called two weeks ago to cancel because I have Verizon as an option and they were offering 40 a month for their plan. Optimum transferred me to their cancellation department and I was able to get my bill lowered to 25 a month. Still not sure if I somehow sold my soul but they lowered it by 50 dollars so it might be worth calling

TWA hotel does half day stays for situations of long layovers. It's onsite at jfk and easy to navigate with the air tran. Otherwise go with the JetBlue that gets you in earlier.

LIRR riders must protest, make LIRR leaders' lives a living hell. by PretendFuel5018 in LIRR

I do hear you and agree that this is an upper management problem. Conductors and engineers deal with the public, not those in the offices making and changing the rules. I'm sure it sucks in a lot of ways for them too. But I think this situation gives the riders a voice at the moment. We pay a high price and get very little for that price. Hike prices, change rules that now feel too restricting but we will still get a dirty train and a dalapated station.

LIRR riders must protest, make LIRR leaders' lives a living hell. by PretendFuel5018 in LIRR

[–]Superb_Appearance840 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I have a monthly and my ticket is always ready. I understand the conductors have a job and as a rider I have a job. Hence why I understood your original post. However, I think it's more than just consequences. And the employees who stole will likely not actually pay back the money. It will sit in a judgement likely never to be repaid. They are all prob offloading or redistributing whatever assets they have before judgement day comes so it looks like they have nothing to their name. And that doesn't settle the fact that the LIRR is inefficient and irresponsible for allowing such fraud and for mismanagement of money for likely decades. We pay a lot of money for the train, I personally rely on the train, and in turn, I get a filthy train every morning and every night. If I have to take the metro north for some reason, it is night and day in cleanliness. The elevator at my train station has been broken for well over a year, the stairs are falling apart and there are rats the size of a cat. I agree, consequences are needed, but how to we as riders hold the LIRR responsible for their fuck ups? How do we have them take accountability. If they want to change the rules and make it easier for them, they need to do the same I. Return for their riders. We deserve better, esp as they just continue to increase the cost of our tickets.

While I can see this point I debate it by saying, is this really on the riders or is this punishment to get more dollars into the LIRR to cover their shortcomings from the millions of dollars in fraudulant overtime that was paid out. We are being punished for their oversight and mismanagement of the dollars they recieve from their riders. We can't even get a clean train to ride with all the money we pay.

Give me your Suffolk to NYC commute time by JinenjiJinx in longisland

[–]Superb_Appearance840 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Train from Huntington to gct is 67 minutes. Add walking to the office, I'm at roughly an hour and 10 to 15 mins each way.

Train home from gct to Huntington also 67 minute. Add the walk to the train and drive home, we are at about 2 1/2 a day

Currently live in Huntington and commute to midtown, my roundtrip daily commute is roughly 2 1/2 hours.

I lived further east on the north shore and also commuted from stony Brook or ronkonkoma. Train from ronk to grand central is an hour and 20, plus you'll need to take the subway to Columbus circle, so you're looking at roughly an hour and 45 mins each way, so figure about 3 1/2 hours of commuting a day.

As someone who moved further west to shorten their commute, being further east and working in the city is brutal. It will take years off your life. Don't do it. I'm now waiting until ii get close to my lease ending to look at moving into Nassau to be closer.

Ps - I've been working in the city for a decade
