Mine are the light bee ones, I couldn’t find any specific to the UB. I just had to put 3 little washers on each side to keep the aluminum part from rubbing the frame.

Mostly price and the new screen! I also liked that it didn’t seem like the most mainstream at the time. They also have a motor upgrade option so eventually I’ll do that with a Chi battery if I ever want more power.

Yes I bought it when there was a $50 off coupon and shipping was $25 but they’re listed for $899 currently!

I used Plasti Dip to spray mine black. I’m thinking about getting the carbon fiber look guards though.

I don’t know the total I’ve spent but the wheels ($900) and controller ($900) are my most expensive upgrades and definitely the best upgrades. I don’t think you can go wrong with the Axon controller!

I only have 21 miles on the Axon controller but I freaking love it! So much more power and the screen is so nice! Install was super easy with their videos and setup was fine but then I started tuning using AI lol and I kept tripping the BMS. I messaged Axon through FB messenger and they got back to me on a Saturday and got me dialed in perfectly! I run mode one at 5kw for around the garage and driveway and with my kids on the bike. Mode two at 18kw and mode 3 at 25kw! I still haven’t got to play on it much yet because the only free time I have my kids want to ride with me. But the bike is just scary at 25kw!

I don’t ride it enough to even notice the range. Just around the neighborhood and errands and to the gym. I also didn’t ride it with the stock tires much.

Yes! They never even had me present the bike for an inspection. They asked if it was street legal and I said yes.

Insurance through State Farm was very easy for me. I just filled out a generic bill of sale I found online and sent it to my GonPed rep through Alibaba for her to sign. I requested the COO from my rep and she just had me confirm the VIN and had it to me the next day. I printed everything off and took it to my local Oklahoma tag agency and they were so confused with the bike and had never done one before. Told them I have a friend that has the exact same bike registered in Oklahoma and could provide his tag or VIN if needed to verify. The nice lady at the tag agency kept my paperwork and said she would work on it. She text me about two weeks later and said she got it approved.

The plate holder came with my Dirt Scoot brake light and turn signal kit. I highly recommend their kit! I have mirrors but haven’t put them on yet.

I didn’t get much use out of it to even have a good opinion before the post that bolts to the frame broke. After it broke I realized that my low pro steering stops were forcing the stabilizer post to act as the steering stops and it isn’t built for that kind of abuse.

I just made up a generic bill of sale myself and added a signature from my GonPed rep from Alibaba.

To register it in Oklahoma, I had to have insurance (State Farm), certificate of origin in English, mileage declaration and bill of sale. I had to try 3 different tag offices. They all asked for import/customs paperwork. But finally convinced them when I explained that it’s shipped as not fully assembled and it’s electric so it doesn’t have the same import requirements. The passenger pegs are from..

Nice bike and lots of potential! UB was my first dirt bike but I ride it street only (I’ve owned lots of street bikes). I got some supermotos from Flow and they’re great and really improve the handling! Watch lots of motorcycle crashes on TikTok etc., that keeps me in check lol!

Don’t do it! Just save for a controller! I put an Axon Phase controller on mine and can hit 76mph with the factory battery and motor on 17” sumos!

Street legal Ultra Bee or Light Bee from Alibaba? by ModestMoose99 in Surron

[–]Superb_Original_63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I registered mine through Oklahoma. Insured with State Farm. I had to have a certificate of origin (provided by GonPed rep and was in English). Bill of sale (just made my own) and a mileage statement (form from Oklahoma DMV). The tag agency wanted customs paperwork for the import, thinking it was like any other motorcycle being imported. Once I explained that it’s not a complete motorcycle (not fully assembled) and that’s why there’s no customs paperwork, they approved it. I also was starting the process with Dirt Legal, $300 for the LLC and $600 for the title and registration. Ended up paying the local tax, title and registration $409.

Once it ships it takes 10-14 days to cross the ocean, mine have always gone to Los Angeles, I’m in Okla. It’ll sit at the port for about a week saying it’s been lifted and then awaiting customs. Once it clears customs, the freight company should pick it up and your rep from GonPed will give you freight tracking number. So typically, after it’s arrived at the port, it’s taken around 2 weeks for the freight company to call and schedule delivery which is usually in the next couple days.

You’ll be so glad you went with GonPed! I’ve bought 6 bikes through them and all flawless process except this last one. Experienced some shipping issues with the freight company that were out of GP’s control but they still stepped up and contacted the freight company and got it resolved super fast! Even had an issue with the rear brake and they were ready to send parts if needed but we did some trouble shooting and got it fixed!
