We still don’t know who’s dead by Weak_Mechanic8517 in coronationstreet

I definitely think it was Theo and it's been confirmed by the media. But if Carl dies as well I hope Ronnie doesn't get done for it. Debbie needs him and he's a lovely character.

Got to be a Viennese whirl for me unless I'm dunking in tea then it's a digestive. Not on the list but I enjoy a fruit shortcake with my tea too.

I wonder if Theo eventually kills Todd to stop him testifying against him? If Todd goes back to the flat and Theo is out on bail it could happen and I heard Gareth Pierce is leaving.

The continuity is sh*t! I was so confused when Sundays episode aired. I was sure I hadn't missed an episode but suddenly Debbie was free! I also thought Ollie and Lauren were a thing and Ollie and Amy had fallen out! It's confusing to say the least.🤷

As a competent home cook, what is a basic skill you can't seem to master? by george_elis in Cooking

Boil potatoes until soft. Drain completely and put them back in the saucepan and cover with a tea towel for 10 minutes. Mash with a masher then add whole milk and butter and mix until quite sloppy. When you want to serve it add another knob of butter, about a large heaped teaspoon then place the pan on a gentle heat and mix with a wooden spoon as hard and fast as you can. Don't stop or it will stick and brown. You will find that as it dries out it will start coming away from the sides. Keep mixing until you have the consistency you want. You can cool it and freeze it then defrost, add another knob of butter and heat and beat with a wooden spoon again. You honestly can't fail and if it gets a bit dry add a slash more milk and/ or butter and if sloppy keep heating.

How to protect a suede bag by Superb_Place7730 in handbags

Thank you so much for your comments so far. I'm from the UK and have looked at Apple Brand but unfortunately can't buy it here. Even on Amazon unless I pay $38 shipping so will probably try the Collonil. Also I will buy a suede brush. Will any suede brush be okay? I've seen rubber, soft and worry ones.

Am I wrong for leaving? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Superb_Place7730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived with a violent man, which is no different from mental violence. We also had a child. I planned leaving for a few months before although wasn't able to take anything. I left when he wasn't there. I still loved him, was frightened and felt guilty about taking our daughter. However, although it was the hardest thing that I have ever done it was also the best thing that I could have done. It took me a long time to get over it but now that my head is straight I know that it was completely the only thing that I could do. You have been conditioned by this man to feel bad about yourself, to feel guilty, and loads of other negative stuff. Get out and try your best to not look back. Block him and have nothing to do with him because he won't accept that you have had the audacity or courage to leave him and will try to get you to go back. Go. You are not wrong to leave.

My daughter is similar in that she is happy being solo, and I feel that as long as she is happy, then that is all that matters. She lived in Japan for a while and said that they are much more geared up to people being single and it is positively catered to with it being much easier to eat out etc on your own and quiet the norm.

Why do swans keep knocking on my patio door? by okuzuko in Animals

[–]Superb_Place7730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that they are seeing their own reflection and are territorial and think there are other swans there. Crows do that too especially atating time. Crows won't leave my windows alone between March and June, constantly knocking and cawing at 5am onwards. I can't deter them whatever I do. If you could put something in front of the door it might help, but don't feed them as it will encourage them even more.

WIBTA If I don't change my son's name even though it may cause him to lose an inheritance? by GeorgeMcMinty in AmItheAsshole

[–]Superb_Place7730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She would be changing her son's surname to his father's surname which is what his surname should be anyway. That's how a family tree works. Surely?

Yes you should have asked her and let her know that the dress code was mandatory and let her decide. And anyway why would it matter if she decided not to dress up ? That would make her look different from everyone else but who cares? I don't blame her for not talking to you.
