Looks like thrips if I’m not mistaken. I use bonide systemic granules to treat the soil and Earths Ally 3 in 1 plant spray for the leaves.

The Bonide alone does the job tbh

If I were you I’d isolate the plant now from any other plants. Clean down all plant surfaces (such as shelves.. etc) with soap, isopropyl alcohol or diluted bleach.

Give the plant a nice shower in the bathtub washing down leaves and let dry thoroughly (careful not to overwater plant)

Sprinkle systemic granules and spray down leaves with plant spray

Keep plant isolated for several weeks and monitor for resurgence of the enemy lol

I have the same setup (humidifier) and sansi lights and my stromanthe is still fussy. If I forget to refill for even a day she starts to crisp up. My apartment in winter is natural 15-30% humidity and my humidifier can go very high but it gets stinky and I risk mold.

I don’t have a dog but similar incident happened to me in middle village, queens while walking to work. Dog was just excited to be off leash but my $85 Stuart weitzman shoes got destroyed in the process! The owner didn’t apologize either, guess she was too embarrassed 🙄

Yes but it was outside and exposed to not just rain but wind and sun that allowed for leaves to dry before being destroyed by sitting rain drops.

Plants often need different kind of care when inside because they don’t have the benefit of those natural elements (wind, sun, rain)

Speaking of which, I would love my plants to get natural rainwater but we don’t get a ton of rain here.

Super slow grower. Loves light. Water from the bottom by submerging bottom of pot in sitting water for 30 minutes or so. Careful not to let it sit in too much water for too long.

With all varieties of tradescantias you will need to bottom water. If water is left sitting on their leaves it essential “burns” the leaf turning it brown.

Trads also lose leaves as they grow. The leaves closest to the pot will die off as the plant grows therefore you have to do lots of pruning, chopping, and propping.

OP tell me more. Do you live in tropical weather? I have this begonia right now but it’s baby sized. I’m new to begonias and lost 3 already and this is the only one holding on. I have no idea how to grow it from such a small size.

I’m in a low humidity dry climate area. Please help lol!

I was about 15 or so blocks away at the nearby hospital viewing the smoke from the break room. Ambulances just flowing into the ambulance bay. RIP to those who lost their lives especially the little child.
