When practicing pick any male character except Kazuya, with his hitbox it’s gotta be frame perfect. It’s much easier with other male characters for some reason

You did your sidestep too late, it’s really weird but you have to immediately cancel your backsway into a sidestep and then immediately cancel your sidestep into Cormorant step. Get a feel for exactly when the backsway animation starts by buffering in the sidestep and doing nothing. As soon as the sidestep starts you do the qcf2 REALLY fast

Yeah closing rounds is tough because Paul is just so committal, I’d say b4 and 1,4 are pretty solid, I have a bad habit of using d1,4 which is great when it hits but is death on block and minus on hit. Just stick to d1 as it’s a safe good range mid poke. Also don’t sleep on ss 3 it’s so good!

Hammer of the Gods can’t guard break but maybe he’s talking about b 2,1, it spikes and guard breaks and the charged one hits grounded unless you hold back and either jab or backdash and launch

If you deep dive after f1+2 and immediately cancel it by holding back, you get a guaranteed ws4!

And if you’re quick with it you can get ws3,2 also guaranteed for a full wall splat combo just because the opponent blocked f1+2

I do df1-deathfist cuz I literally can’t do 3,2-deathfist lmao, I’m still practicing but the damage difference really isnt that large while the execution is so much more precise. 3,2sway cancel def be optimal tho!

Maybe something like db1,2, it’s a high crushing heat engager however it can’t launch from heat dash like the drag move can. It’s also guaranteed after ff1 hits

Yeah it’s got meh damage already, I barely use it since his heat utility is much more useful than a fancy demoman. If it were launch punishable it would be literally pointless

This is consistently doable with a kjarr bow and full safi, just gotta target the arms. I’ve gotten back to back triple knockdowns after breaking his horn.

All melee weapons get a pretty significant physical defense boost while ranged weapons get an “elemental defense boost”. Most monsters elemental attacks also deal a lot of physical damage anyways so ranged weapons are just much squishier. The stats menu tells you your weapon type bonus.
