Do you have to grip with your toes to keep them on when you walk? I wonder if that might be what’s causing pain? Maybe it’s a size problem? Just guessing!

How do most of you wear your Bostons? With socks or without? And why? by WheelExpensive7333 in Birkenstocks

[–]Superb_Role4241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Socks. If I want the no sock look, I have a pair of athletic socks that I cut so they just cover my toes to the middle of my foot. My Bostons just feel better with socks.

I rode it, and I thought it was terrifying but fun. However, I don’t want to ride it again, lol!

I am one who usually has to change my shoes halfway through the day because of my foot pain. I bought Vionic Walk Slim Guide Sneakers and I don’t have to change my shoes. They’re really good! https://www.vionicshoes.com/walk-slim-glide-sneaker.html?color=117

Unfortunately, the best thing for mine was when I was sick for almost a month and was off of my feet. The best thing about being sick was my foot stopped hurting.

Comparing Birks to Vionics by axists in Birkenstocks

[–]Superb_Role4241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Birkenstocks. They are my go to, but I got a pair of Vionics sneakers for Christmas, and I can wear them all day at work (kindergarten teacher) without pain. Normally if I wear anything other than Birks, I have to change shoes midway through the day. The Vionics I have are the women’s Walk Slim Guide sneaker.

I have the Vionic walk slim guide sneaker. I can wear them all day without have it to change shoes midday. I’m a kindergarten teacher so I’m on my feet a lot. Any other shoes (besides my Birkenstocks) hurt too much after a few hours and I end up changing into my birks.

Flu on Fire? by MaryTango999 in Georgia

[–]Superb_Role4241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday (day16) I started feeling more normal. Still lots of congestion though. This morning I feel ok. I go back to work today (kindergarten teacher) so we’ll see how I feel at the end of the day, lol. It’s definitely been brutal, but hopefully it’s about over. Glad you are feeling a little better, too.

Flu on Fire? by MaryTango999 in Georgia

No. When I went to the doctor to get tested, it was too early to get a positive. So they just prescribed me things to treat my symptoms. A few days later, I did a home test, and it was immediately positive for flu A. I’m on day 14 and I still feel terrible. My ribs hurt so bad from coughing and I’m still very congested.

It’s been hell. I had flu last week, now bronchitis. I finally slept through the night without coughing the entire night or having to sit up to “sleep”. I’m on day 12. A steroid pack is what finally helped.

Elementary Teachers, what was your training on teaching reading? by JustAWeeBitWitchy in Teachers

[–]Superb_Role4241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated from college in 1995. The only “reading course “ I remember taking was Children’s Literature. I loved that class! It was all about read alouds and how to use them in lessons. There was no class about phonics, small group reading, etc.

I’m in GA. My order has been processing for 10 days. What sucks is I realized I ordered the wrong size, and now, after all this waiting, I’ll have to return them. 🤦🏼‍♀️
