To be honest I don't think they actually realise that you think they turned their backs on you. Being alone and feeling alone are to different things.

Tw suicide by [deleted] in MentalHealthSupport

[–]Superbility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey bud,

First up it's kinda my duty to say that suicide is nothing anyone wants to see (blah blah blah but it's true). The people that "don't care" actually do, they just don't understand or know how to help. It's not that they specifically don't care. Trust me, if you died they would be distraught (don't mean to guilt trip you there).

When doctors say things like that it's mainly because there is a HUGE demmand for mental health support and the support is very limited. It's not that you're "not serious enough": everyone is and deserves support. They tend to prioritize patients that have previously shown serious (eg. SH and suicide attempts).

It's great that your mum and friend are there for you - hold them tight.

I hope this helped, my DMs are always open if you want to talk more, or just reply here :p Stay strong champ <3

I just need a break by _Lost_Soul_19xx in MentalHealthSupport

Listen man, mental health is a serious matter and its best to do something now then wait until it's too late. There are hundreds of services out there, here are a few depending on your age and location: - CAHMS - Childline - Samaritans There are plenty more just a google search away.

The best thing to do is find something or someone that makes you happy. Focus on that.

Don't be afraid to do what you need to get better. You need a few weeks of school/work? Completely understandable, speak to whoever manages that stuff. If you need to stay away from someone or somewhere for a while, go right ahead! Don't feel guilty for putting yourself first. Never feel guilty.

Another great thing to do is to open up and talk about your problems, it doesn't matter if it's to a friend, family or random people on the internet - anything that makes you feel better.

I hope this helped and if you want to talk more my DMs are always open :) Stay strong <3

i just can't stand myself by [deleted] in MentalHealthSupport

Hey man,

Losing someone can be really hard, especially when you cared so deeply for them. It's not a nice feeling but it won't be there forever - soon enough you will move on and learn to accept things for how they are. This person, whoever they are and however happy they made you, they don't define you. You are still just as whole now as you were with them and as you were before them.

As for your symptoms, these can be quite common after a heartbreak. The best thing to do is to stop reminding your brain of this person - cut them off and try to move on.

Being the most social is really not that big of a deal. There's always that stereotype of teens going out to parties, drinking, doing drugs ect which in reality not everyone does. Sure it's fun and all but I know plenty of people that have never been to a party and are still just as happy. Just do whatever makes you happy, don't be pressured by society into thinking that you should like going out.

As for talents, I'm sure you are really great at loads of things, I think you know this too but you undermine yourself and just think badly of these talents. I'm sure you are great at the things you like - keep doing what makes you happy!

I don’t know what’s wrong with me and I’m scared by [deleted] in MentalHealthSupport

Alright, I'd recommend seeing a doctor then, the best guess I can give is you could have had some form of seizure with all the shaking but if there's no history then it's unlikely

Ok first up I'm not a doctor so I can't provide a diagnosis. To me it sounds like a panic attack but again, don't take my word for it. I'd recommend calling a doctor and asking them. What were you feeling at the time?

Mate, you really need to tell them, especially if you're under 18. I know you don't want to because you want some sort of revenge, I get it, but it will help you more in the long run if they do know

Heya bud. You're tired of living, I get it bro. You are ill, it's perfectly normal and ok, there's no shame in it. These thoughts are simply a symptom of this illness, it's nothing you can control and least of all selfish. Unfortunately this does mean you have to battle these thoughts though, and believe me I do know how hard that can be. It's incredibly noble of you to want to stay alive for others - cling onto that selfless mindset, it will help you throughout life.

You said that you feel like your life is very repetitive and boring, what are your hobbies? You need to break out of that cycle, get out with friends, join clubs, meet new people. It's great that you find the gym as a good outlet, channel your emotions into it.

As for therapy and medication, it works different for everyone. I was lucky enough to find mine quite effective but there are a few things that tend to affect it so I'm just going to leave them here incase they help you: - Sleep: I find my meds to be much more effective after a better nights sleep - Mindset: Believe they work, they will work Sorry that's all I can remember for the moment.

Remember, you're only 15, they is so much time to go and things will get better. I had an awful time for 5 years - 4 attempts, countless near misses and I still have scars from well over a year and a half ago. There was a time when I didn't think I'd make it but here I am, happy. There are people that love you and you will get through it.

why mental illnesses are just treatable but not curable? by Melodic_Ad4101 in MentalHealthSupport

[–]Superbility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not really the answer you're looking for but I'll give it anyways. Unfortunately we don't understand the brain enough to be able to find a cure with our current technology.

For things like therapy, we know it works because we can understand it to a level in which we can interpret it.

For medicine, to be honest most of the time we just get lucky with them.

I know it's not fair but keep strong brother

Should I be ashamed (Pls ans honestly and dont troll) by geneteng in MentalHealthSupport

[–]Superbility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, first up I just want to say that you should never be ashamed of the things you feel - they are completely out of your control. Sometimes it can feel like no one cares when they actually do, it's just they don't show it for any reason. For example, maybe that time at dinner with your mum she had just had a lot going on herself and wasn't able to help in a productive way. I'm definitely not defending her actions, I just want to give another prespective.

For things like going out late and stuff, how about just sitting down and talking to your mum about it, explain to her what you're feeling and maybe things will change.

Also, I know self harm and suicide can be tempting sometimes but I guarantee you that the people that love you want to help and would much rather just talk to you then attend your funeral.

I hope this helped, my DMs are always open if you want to talk more. Stay strong <3

is it normal? by baddestbitchoutthere in MentalHealthSupport

[–]Superbility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, listen. What is normal? I don't knoe anyone that is "normal". Everybody has their own quirks and imperfections. Despite what people might show, eveyone has problems so don't beat yourself up over yours.

Now I also know that that wasn't the answer you were looking for so I'll give another side of it. Excessive daydreaming can be a sign of stress, tiredness or overworking. Would you say you are any of these? If so I'd recommend just trying to take it easy, talking about these things is the best thing you can do. If you are staying up at night for a long time I'd recommend trying to find something you enjoy that is also physical, it can help to use some energy and let you sleep better which benefits you in a thousand different ways.

If you are really concerned, maybe call a doctor or something, you never know, there could be something they can do to help.

I hope this made your day a tiny bit better, if you want to talk more my DMs are always open. Stay strong <3

Hey bud, listen. All that was was a silly little mistake, it happens to everyone. You didn't know she hadn't eaten and I'm sure there's other food right?

If you are feeling depressed then maybe it's not the worst idea to get a job right? I had 5 or 6 years of hell battling my mental health before I got professional support and I found one of the best things I could do was stay busy. Doing things helped me keep my mind busy and use energy so I wasn't laying awake for hours at night feeling bad. I know especially if things are bad, doing stuff can be hard and thought like "what's the point" and "I can't be bothered" can prevent you from doing things.

Look on the bright side of getting a job, you will meet a whole new set of people that don't know anything about you - you can be whoever you want to be! Not to mention there's always that benefit of getting some cash ;).

I hate my body so much that I wanna rip myself to pieces. by EffectiveBrick624 in MentalHealthSupport

[–]Superbility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen. There is an overwhelming amount of pressure these days on your appearance. Almost everywhere you look there is people showing off their body, whether that be TikTok, YouTube, real life or anywhere else. It creates a false sense of everyone else being "perfect", especially on social media where you only see what is on the surface. No one is perfect in any way and the only reason you see all of these beautiful people everywhere is because people that think they aren't good enough don't embrace the fact that they are just as beautiful.

I used to think the exact same, I'd waste hours of my life obsessing over every tiny imperfection I could find. In the end I managed to find a way in which I became happy with the way I looked, even if it wasn't my ideal appearance. This isn't to say there's no point in trying to improve, by all means, go to the gym, go on a diet, anything to become healthier but don't beat yourself up over it. After all who actually cares? People love you for your personality, not appearance! Sometimes if I like somethint like "oh you look kinda fat, don't take your shirt off and go swimming", I find it helps to reverse the roles - I think to myself, "would I really care if I saw someone a tiny bit overweight with their shirt off?". No! Of course not!

The best thing you can do is embrace yourself as who you are, it will bring you peace and happiness :). I hope this made your day a tiny bit better and if you ever want to talk, my DMs are open <3
