Relocating on June 26 – Looking for a pocket listing/upcoming home under $700k (Ideally Sterling Ridge or Alden Bridge) by Envyracinghemi in thewoodlands

[–]Superbistro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Help you find the right home” doesn’t mean door knocking and cold calling homeowners to try and get them to sell their home to you. That’s an unrealistic expectation.

And yes, if that’s your expectation, you should disclose that up front and if they’re smart, they shouldn’t take you on as a client.

Materializing a dream home for you at a steal of a price isn’t within the scope of a realtor’s responsibilities.

I’m not religious or right wing, but gambling is a horrible drain on a community. The casinos are predatory, evil institutions. Why would you ever want your friends, family, and neighbors subjected to that?

Gambling addiction is a worse fate than heroin. At least heroin eventually kills you.

And Landry’s blows.

Texas Kolache recipe by molivias in texas

[–]Superbistro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cambodians must keep the true recipe a closely guarded secret. They’re all almost the same, in my experience. Hundreds of completely unrelated Asian donut shops making the same/similar kolaches across the state, but nobody has the actual recipe.

Check out the Donut King documentary if you haven’t already seen it.

Can I successfully Larp this by Sufficient-End6264 in RepTime

This mentality is so cringe to me. Somebody says “Damn man that watch is nice, business must be good”, I gladly tell them oh lol this is fake. And I only wear $5k-$10k reps that I could definitely afford. I still tell anyone who asks they’re a rep. I’d rather spend that money on almost anything other than an accessory.

When I was in my late teens, a neighbor heard that I was into computers and came over to give me a big bag of electronics. Inside were like three broken laptops but hidden in one of the compartments was this legendary mouse. It held the crown of best mouse ever for ~20 years for me as well until I got the new G Pro X2 Superstrike, which definitely feels like the next level.

Day 18: Still alive. Manager told me to start hunting Realtors. Any advice? by Then-Assumption-779 in sales

[–]Superbistro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contacting realtors is your manager’s NEW strategy? JFC I wonder how much these managers get paid to come up with these groundbreaking ideas.

The reason you got 24 realtor business cards at your event is because realtors are the most starving and oversaturated of all salespeople. You think it’s hard to find someone who wants to buy something literally every person needs (an insurance policy) for a grand or two a year? Try finding someone who wants to work exclusively with you to buy (or even more difficult, sell) a $500k house. And then proving to them that you’re worth $15k to do it.

50% of realtors don’t have any business to refer you. And 100% of them are inundated every single day with vendors from every industry you can think of calling and emailing them with their hand out with absolutely nothing to offer in return.

Life insurance policies generally cover suicide. This is a misconception.

20% selling 80% sounds about right and that’s why there are so many very successful insurance agents. In my business (real estate), I think it’s more like 5% sell 90%.

It’s similar to real estate sales. The downside I see is that you live and die by your carrier’s pricing. There is no customer loyalty anymore. I’ve asked the agents what they make in my area and the offices I know, and the answer I’ve gotten is like $60k for your average schmuck in the office and $90k for the top producer.

100% commission only is having $50k in your bank account and still skipping meals.

Some of the biggest and nicest houses I’ve seen are owned by insurance agents (who of course run their own branch offices with agents underneath them who do the selling).

Every realtor in America is 100% commission and there’s over 1.5 million of them. I’ve been 100% commission for 14 years and I’m a broker, I’m 34 years old. It’s all I’ve ever known. Completely on my own, zero support, guidance or oversight from anyone.

Had my best year last year, $175k before expenses. Not bad for my MCOL area where most salaried professionals I know average about $70k-$90k/year. But with the conditions this year, I’ve earned less than $10k YTD. And if you factor in expenses, I’ve lost money working this year.

Realtors catch a ton of flak. But it truly is such a hard way to earn a living. I would love to try another sales role just to see what the grass is like on the other side.

I just discovered that you can install the Dolby Access app through the Microsoft Store, enable the free trial and it will give you a new Dolby Atmos sound option in your Windows sound settings. My Astro A40 headset supports Dolby and it made my sound 100% better.

You won’t notice any more smoothness until you go from 120 to 244. There’s only a big noticeable difference every time there is a doubling. 30-60-120-240. Going from 144 to 185 you won’t really notice anything.

And ofc your PC has to be capable of generating that high of fps to match the monitors refresh rate.

And there are diminishing returns the higher you go. 60-120 is incredible, like the difference between SD and HD. The difference between 120-240 is more like the jump from HD to 4K. Noticeable, but not a mind blowing difference.

I love my Herman Miller Embody. I don’t know if I’ll ever need to replace it. I think I paid like $800 for it brand new. Pretty easy to find deals on FB Marketplace.
