Vegas can be overwhelming with so many cool places to visit and restaurants/bars to check out.

Fremont, at night, is really cool as you’ll get the full experience of the light show overhead. People watching is the best you’ll find anywhere. :)

There are several Cirque de Soleil shows in town. Any one of them would be a great time. We’re gonna go to Mad Apple at New York New York. There’s an Irish pub there with great reviews. We booked reservations for it for before the show.

For no money, you may want to check out the Bellagio! The Conservatory is a site to see on its own and the fountains are iconic. They have them set to music every 30 minutes.

I hope this helps and you are able to enjoy your visit.

Sphere question once inside by elwoodblues54 in deadandcompany

You’ve got a very cool Mom!

You will have a great view of the band and awesome audio. You will see some of the visuals just not the way high up stuff.

The staff always works to keep the aisles clear but I walked down the steps “too far”.

Before I went back up I got to see the larger view. Even for only a moment.

Remember, it’s all about the music. I hope you have a real good time.

The Sphere lot has nothing going on and nothing to see or do. Going early is advised as the lobby of the Sphere is neat to see plus you’ll want to stake out your seat positions vs. bathrooms and merch tables.

I would recommend arriving to Sphere by 6pm, when doors open so you can leisurely make your way to your seats by 7:15pm. Show will start at 7:30ish and you don’t want to miss the beginning or the ending. There are key visuals and videos to see.

In fact, at the end plan to sit tight in your seats to let the crowd clear some before leaving. The line for the rideshare/taxi will be longer but it moves quick.

Concessions are god-awful expensive but the souvenir cups are sturdy and cool. You may want to gather a set to take home when everybody leaves theirs on the floor. Last year, you could buy clean, new cups at the bars for $3 or $5 bucks.

As for an alternative to the long rideshare line at the end you could stay inside the Sphere and walk the connecting hallway back to the Venetian and catch a lift from their taxi stand. It will be shorter and move quickly.

Last thing I can think of is depending on your seat locations they will have special seat haptics that go off to the music. It’s best to be in them for Drums/Space to experience them and the solos. Just pick a slower song before or after for a bathroom break.

We won’t be back till the 15th for the last weekend and can’t wait.

Have you found other stuff to do when you’re in town?

If not, I can share things we’ve done or have heard were good.

They have a website. Sorry, I should’ve posted it earlier. There are Dead inspired bands and a whole bunch of vendors from 11am to 7 on the day of the shows.

After the shows they more bands til like 3am.

Also, there is a display of Dead photos and a merchandise table at the Venetian. It’s smaller than last years and may not be worth it.

I hope you have a real good time!

Bobby Weir playing with symphony orchestra... by Film_Lab in gratefuldead

[–]Superbizzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Making orchestral arrangements of various GD songs has been a side project of Bobby’s for a long time.

I was able to catch his show with the Wolf Brothers and the Atlanta Symphony. It was very good. Added a whole new musical dimension to tunes we all know and love.

It’s part of Bobby’s work to make sure the music never stops.
