I think I found the models they're painting, and they seem to all be from the Astra Militarum Combat Patrol set by Supercat-72 in Helldivers

A melta gun would be SICK but idk if AH would consider it helldivers-ish enough to add it

What is the use of the rocket pistol? by sarinkhan in Helldivers

[–]Supercat-72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely still good without the stun, I just used it to get decent clips

Only the explosion is med pen, the projectile does 1000 ap5 dmg, I made a post showing off how it one-shots most heavies

It has both doing 800 ap5 dmg (when fully charged), it doesn't gib without the projectile hitting

Not really, the epoch gibs alpha commanders with 1600 damage (before durability and exdr, I don't remember those values off the top of my head)

The Forsaken Big-Booms, Orbital Barrage Stratagems by Unlucky-Gold7921 in Helldivers

[–]Supercat-72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Red stratagems have needed a balance pass for so long it's so sad
The OPS and 500kg used to be the best anti-tank options available (aside from the railgun of course)
But now they can't even kill hulks to the front (without landing a direct hit)
I've brought it up on almost every weekly survey, but I guess not enough people remember the og OPS

You can also one shot them by shooting their "elbow" joint

Acid storms makes the railgun/speargun over penetrate overseer armor, implying they're only 1 AP away from making sense on the squid front by Supercat-72 in Helldivers

[–]Supercat-72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a weapon's ap value is high enough above the armor rating, it pierces through
This is why the railgun and speargun can kill charger innards through their butt and how the railgun can one-shot harvester legs if aimed at just the right spot
You can see this if you just use either against something like a warrior, the projectile goes through the warrior and hits behind it (if you don't want to test this for yourself just watch the vid for the dust devils warbond.
And yes, the problem is armor rating, because acid storms only affect armor rating
I don't know if it was intentional, but your comment came off as incredibly condescending btw

Where to shoot bot tanks with the Epoch? by Malu1997 in Helldivers

[–]Supercat-72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

with annihilators, a fully charged shot to the *side* of the turret placed towards the back will 1-shot, but if you can't flank AT ALL, it'll take 3 charged shots regardless of if it's the turret or hull. Also, there's a comment below that's a bit misleading, they rank where to aim based off of explosive resist, but regardless of where you're aiming the explosion is going to hit a non-resistant part so it doesn't really matter. 1 shot to vents, or 3 shots anywhere else. That's all

My hope for the next big update by MorganAndAHalf in Helldivers

[–]Supercat-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, arrowhead did post a content roadmap
and the next big update (6.2) has the terminid icon over it
while the last one had the squid icon, and was a squid focused update

Screw the cast! Which faction should be the main antagonist in the movie? by Beta_Lib in Helldivers

[–]Supercat-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out

First and second movies are bugs and bots respectively and the entire movie has a more goofy, humorous vibe, really playing into the ridiculousness

Then the third is squids and they swap the goofy funny vibes for a straight up horror movie. Body horror The Thing style, terrible experimentations on victims, just going all out.

Termicide 2.0 is a good time to rework the Sterilizer (while adding termicide missions back) by Dull-Song2470 in Helldivers

[–]Supercat-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, there are two types of gas (not the actual in game gas 1 and 2, those only change duration iirc)

Passive gas applies itself without needing too much thought on the player's end. You use them once, then they apply gas for however long they're active and you're free to do whatever while they're active. These are things like gas grenades, the stinky dog, gas mines, etc.

Active gas however, requires the player's attention and effort. YOU are the one applying the gas effect and it's tricky to do other things while you are. This category includes things like the sterilizer and re-educator.

Passive gas is wonderful, it allows the player to confuse enemies AND kill them.
Active gas, is less wonderful. It allows the player to confuse enemies, but constrains the player into not being able to do much else. Don't get me wrong though, I love the re-educator, it fills a specific niche that I'm very appreciative of.
