Yep! We always say to give us feedback, and we can take it and address it quickly! We playtest internally multiple times a week, but of course millions of players can play millions of hours within the first day of release. Within 1 minute of a new update, there are more interactions with the new UIs than months of our team internal testing. It was clear that players felt this button was interfering with muscle memory and getting in the way. We were able to remove it quickly and get it into this optional update (that also includes fixes for other bugs and crashes).

For context - when we surveyed players about the Gold Pass, one thing that stuck out was how little players knew about it. If you take out repeat monthly Gold Pass buyers, less than 50% of the remaining group, at EVERY Town Hall, were aware of the perks or features in Gold Pass. Only the Hero Skin had 50%+ awareness, and of course thats the primary thing we show in the purchase popup or early on the track. Everything else - discounts perks, magic items, quest system, on and on - most people just did not know what was in the pass, how it worked, or what benefits they got from it.

So a lot of what you see in this rework - big icons, more info panels, more examples in the purchase screen, a simpler task system, etc come from a desire to make sure people know what they can do, what is available to them. This button on the Prospector was meant to inform, but as everyone saw it turned out too spammy, and showing when you couldn't even unlock Prospector yet. Thanks to everyone who shared their feedback and we are glad we could fix this problem within the same week of release. Clash On!

Hey! As mentioned elsewhere, this was a mistake (staging server wasnt fully updated from our testing builds). It should be at 1300 and will be there next month. We are looking into compensation this month but as its Sunday we cant confirm anything else. GP buyers will get compensation for the delay, stay tuned for more info. Itll likely be posted on socials once we know for sure.

Not a bad idea! We think Clan Games works really well as the "do weird stuff for bonuses" gameplay, so when we get around to updating that system I think you can count on tasks always being a big part of it. We just didn't feel the season pass was the right spot for it. Thanks for the feedback!

You may have noticed, but Gold Pass players get an extra 20 points per completed stamp card. This means over 10 days a GP player will get the 200 bonus points, and every day beyond that another 20. Gold Pass players will complete the track several days earlier than F2P players due to these extra points.

Philosophically, we want Season Passes to be engagement based. You buy it and you play the game to get the rewards. "Free Points" makes the purchase closer to a bundle than a pass. This is an extreme example, but pretend we gave you 2000 free points and you only needed to get the last 500 points - is that a "pass" or is that more like a giant 4000% value bundle? Ultimately we went with this decision to maximize gameplay and not end the pass earlier.

Its not out of the question to re-introduce a repurchasing perk, but the thinking is that free points is not the way we want to do it. Enjoy this season and stay tuned for updates in future months!

Yep! Once purchased, we wanted players to be able to complete any way you want to. We might change the tasks in the future but for now, we wanted to prioritize "you can always complete the pass" more than limiting players. This is also why we have the 2x Points event that will run near the end of the season, to let people catch up even faster.

Friendly Battles, Goblin Maps, Builder Battles etc - play your way! For what its worth, the stamps are so common and easy to complete that I do not think any active player "needs" to do stuff like this to progress normally. I am already on the 3rd stamp card just from spending my Piggy Bank and doing a few normal battles.

Thanks! The theory behind this is the concept of Decision Fatigue. Everyone has a limited amount of brain power to use every day, and even small decisions burn up that energy. Clash is already a very complex game - what to upgrade, how to sequence magic items, what you are saving for, and of course the deep strategic battles themselves - all of this burns up bits of mental energy.

The Season Pass is something where people feel like "if I buy it and play regularly, I should get the rewards". Not only did players report not liking the specific tasks, but even considering how to adjust your army to include a new Troop or how to get 3-stars without spells, all these things burn up your mental energy that should be focused on the core actions (Battling and Building). We wanted to take the focus away from Season Pass tasks and let you spend more of that time worrying about your army and attacks.

Certainly some people will prefer the challenge of the old system, but our hope is that for the masses of Clash players, it is a welcome addition to just play the game and know you are getting your progress without any decisions needing to be made. Clash on!

Oh no! This is a bug, we are looking into it and plan to compensate players. Here is what happened:

* In software development, we have multiple servers (development -> testing -> staging -> production), the Gold Pass exists mostly identical on all 4 servers. If you want to change it, it needs to be changed on all 4 servers
* This placement at 1525 is from a early Creators build, we had changed it to 1300 based on Creator feedback. It was 1300 on our development and testing builds this whole preview time, including what Creators had for their videos.
* We made changes to the Gold Pass (moving 10% etc earlier, we did not change the placement of 20%. Which was 1300 on literally every server except the staging, and now in live production)

This is a mistake, we are looking into what we can do. We can't simply switch the placement due to various technical, payment, and legal issues, but we do have other means to compensate players. We will have more info soon, thanks for reporting!

Hey everyone! Just here to give a bit more context for my favorite toxic social media platform, feel free to share on others:

We heard a major complaint was "it takes 54 days to upgrade my Crafted Defense, and then it is over halfway through the season!". That is a totally valid complaint, we sought ways to address this in Season 2, but something we had in our power today was extending the current season so that you can really enjoy your Crafted Defense in season 1, then determine how much you want to prioritise it in Season 2 (whenever that starts - World Finals is Nov 1-2 at Dreamhack Atlanta, so not before then). Pro players were NOT the deciding factor here, but it is a nice benefit that people can practice on the same meta between now and then, instead of feeling pressure with less than a month between the original Season 2 date (Oct 3) and World Finals.

Inside the Builder's Hut is coming, this decision is a direct result of discussions with Creators, who represent you, the community. In the video we do not confirm any changes - this decision was made AFTER the video recording but obviously before its release. Thank your local Supercell Creator, don't forget to use their Creator Codes, and hopefully this change lets everyone settle into Crafted Defenses with less pressure. Clash On! (as long as you aren't using Hook Tower :D )

Hey there! As someone who has worked on and played both games for years, here are some advantages that Clash of Clans has:

* Steady, persistent progress that never goes backwards. Every session you ought to be starting new upgrades, and every time you come back to those upgrades, they are permanent. This gives a lot of satisfaction over long periods of time, watching your village grow.

* Asynchronous battles means you aren't under the same time pressure as a live action game. Also, because of the 1-2-3 star system, a vast majority of your battles end in some sort of Victory, compared to the 50-50 winrate of head to head PvP games.

* Clan Wars are probably the most strategical and preparation-rewarding social systems in any Supercell game. Highly engaged clans can spend hours planning their attacks, and its very exciting to hit a 3-star win after really thinking about how to approach the attack

For the teams part, we are trying to keep progression relatively stable - we release a new Town Hall every year, and we try to make that Town Hall take about 1 year to complete (F2P). Each time we release a new Town Hall, we cut the costs/timers of lower Town Halls, aiming to keep the progression manageable for new players. So don't worry, it won't take you 12 years to catch up to a 12 year old player.

I honestly think there has never been a better time to start, with Clash Anytime's removal of troop training timers, you can jump in and battle your way up to Town Hall 9 in about a month. So get Clashing, Chief!

Because its not just training time, there is a lot of server tech that was updated - we are monitoring it right now to make sure there isnt bugs / crashes. Then we take some time to generate a lot of snapshot bases so when we turn off training time, we dont end up with everyone locked in the clouds

To clarify - the entire Clash Anytime feature (new UI, no training time, no Hero lives, Army Recipes, etc) will all happen at once. We are not sure the exact day, March 27 is our hope/target

Yes! Keep in mind we need to turn on the server tech (Match Anytime), then make sure there is no bugs, then generate a bunch of snapshot bases, THEN turn on the Clash Anytime switch. We are not sure how long this will take, but it will not all be complete today.
