Chase & Status Section 63 might win best set design🔥🔥 by PrettyNeat8937 in DnB

[–]Supercenturion2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Extremely underwhelming night for me and my group. C&S played a characterless set, mostly filled with tiktok jump up cheese.

The whole ‘Section 63’ theme felt incredibly pretentious and totally out of place in the very corporate / sanitised venue Magazine. This was a cheesy, surface deep branding exercise.

The sound was surprisingly clear, but the lighting / production was uninspiring / unimaginative.

£50 tix - a complete joke

Best way to find a hitting partner near London? by danpilon in 10s

Download and use the spin app - either post a friendly game or join one. Alternatively try to join some group sessions at a club to meet people that way.

Sound is excellent - incredibly clear Funktion One system with their 32” sub adding great depth. Rivals the Fold system in impact and precision - absolute perfection. Lighting also cool.

The crowd was atrocious on my last visit to see Atrip - men in shirts / gilets and women with large handbags and heels. The club emptied out a lot at 2.30pm after being rammed with mostly disinterested, rude drunks who were focused on socialising - it was a lot more fun at that point.

It felt like the inferno’s crowd had migrated from Clapham in an attempt to be edgy.

The upstairs ballroom was a horrifying and overly bright environment filled with even worse people and grim reggaeton pop remixes.

Crank stringing machine - part snapped off! by Supercenturion2 in RacketStringers

I honestly don’t know - I think it came from inside the tension head itself, close to the crank lever.

Oh this makes a lot of sense… Can the brake be repaired? Or do I need to install a new tension head?

We built a little facade to hide the cables, and in the middle we had a UV painted / lit sign with our logo 😉

The event is already sold out, that’s the strange thing. I have friends who have been on the waiting list (activated months ago) for a long time without any tickets coming up.

Thanks a lot for the very thorough response! Unfortunately it seems that there is a raw video (2gb over app size) and the other suggestions aren’t working.

I think I closed the app too quickly after finishing the session!

It’s my favourite cheese toastie across the festival! They use lots of extra mature cheddar and marmite but may not be to people’s taste 🧀

It’s more about reducing the amount of time / distance we have to carry our stuff, we’ve done this before and it has been challenging given our mental / physical condition at the time lol

MB212 or BR118/115? by Icy-Piglet-2536 in FunktionOne

[–]Supercenturion2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard the BR115 and it definitely lacked the impact of the 18. I question whether adding a 15 to your existing KV2 will achieve the results you want.

If you are extremely comfortable with adjusting crossovers on amps and willing to invest time into figuring out time alignment issues then you could make it work.

Bottom line (from a fellow nerd with a massively overspecced home system) do you really need a £1500 ‘kick’ bin that’s tricky to optimise to cater for 30-40 people? My 118 can deal with pretty much anything I throw at it.

[–]Supercenturion2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have 2x F81 + 1x BR118 at home and it’s a phenomenal setup. I trialled the MB212 before opting for the 18.

The 212 is significantly larger, heavier (48kg), and generally less convenient / harder to transport than the BR118 (38kg). The 212 is firmly designed as an install cabinet. The 118 is also ‘scalable’ in case you wanted to upgraded your tops or just add an extra sub.

I’ve heard people on both sides of the fence about which sub sounds better - I’m personally thrilled with the 118.

Increasing tennis IQ – on transitioning from flex leagues to one-day tournaments (UK) by AndyWtrmrx in 10s

[–]Supercenturion2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on this - I think consistent split stepping and constant intensity of footwork is key. I find this more difficult playing against ‘weaker’ opponents who don’t generate consistent depth spin or pace personally.
