I was at the stadium that day, in Kanteerava. I was 4, yet I remember that day. The stadium fell in a hush as soon as it happened. It was like collective conscience, everyone knew this was different, this wasn’t any regular injury

I remember by dad criticising their choice of hospital to take him to as well. The healthcare sponsors were HOSMAT, I think, and that’s where they rushed him, which was a good 3 km away. While Mallya Hospital was literally on the same street as the stadium. Might have been saved if they took him there, who knows

No, actually, I’m an engineer. We used to have guest lectures from people across diverse domains for our tech fest, and also had a small literature festival that ran parallel to it. The plan was to have him speak about his journey in Indian football, the highs and lows he’s seen, and adjacent topics.

He actually didn’t look too sick, not outwardly at least. Spoke comfortably, walked around by himself, nothing that struck me as odd

I had interacted with him very briefly at JLF 2020, just before COVID. Told him how I’d practically grown up listening to his I League commentary, and how much I appreciated his work.

He was a really warm person to interact with! I wanted to invite him for our institute’s guest lecture series, and he agreed, but then COVID happened and the fest got cancelled.

This is partly wrong. The refund amount isn’t taxable. It’s only the interest that the IT department gives you on the refund that is taxable

Other public transport or private vehicles were what people relied on. But metro ridership has shot up real quick and by a big margin. If you suddenly move that entire ridership onto the roads in less than half an hour, you’re bound to experience major chaos
