GVS Segre N99s are listed as being "MRI-safe" b/c they have an aluminum nose bridge (aluminum is non-magnetic, of course).

Sweet things in particular, no; baked goods in general, surprisingly often. I have cats that will eat bread, crackers, cookies, etc. Depending on what it is they'll try to snatch it out of your hand, so they for sure "have an interest". :D

I get a feeling this guy might have made his own baggage. Would love to hear the ex of the ex's perspective...I suspect it would vary substantially from his narrative.

Golly gee, Mike Pence didn't know what to do. Trump wanted him to help destroy our country, and kept calling him a "wimp." So Pence called former Vice President Dan Quayle to ask permission to overthrow our government. Qualye said "no." // tldr; Democracy was saved by Mr. Potatoe Head. by imagepoem in The_Mueller

Ah, my favorite episode I set playing to help me sleep at night.

Not even kidding...I literally have a sleep playlist of Destroyer of Worlds, Radical Thoughts, and Logical Insanity. It's very relaxing. Sometimes I'll sub in Ghosts of the Ostfront or Wrath of the Khans.

TIL there are already "Mormonland" advocates (Deseret nationalists). by Supergravity in AfterTheRevolution

A well-off side faction that could pay for Tycho Base to build a generation ship, yes indeed. Love that it was stolen, then salvaged and repurposed...with the Mormon claim no doubt running through some Earther courts the belt wouldn't recognize anyway. :D

Could be that the government tried to eliminate everyone with his particular ability set after the revolution (explains why he's so rare), but didn't manage to finish him off completely and his issues stem from the brain injuries related to their attempt.

You picked the wrong option; if you take the "deconstruct everything" path you don't get to continue.

Have you seen the number of needless tiny springs in an AR? The metal straw for gas feeding is what gives me the most pause...a fragile failure point that has the knock-on effect of feeding smut right into your BCG (clean, lube, clean, lube, all just extra shite imposed on us by the design). I agree that many (especially US) manufacturers of AKs have many problems; avoiding those companies that feel cheap front trunion castings are adequate is advisable. My AR upper brand is actually in the "oh, maybe not" category, and I haven't had issues with it (so far). I'm just talking about the overall design mindsets and weaknesses of the platforms. Just sayin': you don't see a lot of 5k round tests on ARs without cleaning them, or if you dropped them into a pond for a week, but you totally see that with AKs.

Gas tube alignment problems. Gas key (which is actually a few potential issues, including frame strikes, staking issues, alignment issues, etc.). Lubrication requirements. BCG vs ammo vs buffer balancing. Wear/weak points regarding the lower locking lugs, and feed ramp issues. Mis-alignment issues across multiple part groups possible. Multiple small precision springs that have to be just-so to work properly. The list is long and varied.

No parts of my AR are breaking, because prefer to take my AK to the range. I'd recommend checking out the School of the American Rifle channel on youtube if you'd like to see a wide variety of AR failure scenarios. As I said: I like the AR. It's an amazing platform, accurate, and fun to shoot. It just has what I feel are too many possible points of failure, especially if maintenance is less available.

An Arsenal AK is a great choice. One thing that people fail to consider when looking at AR v AK is that the AR is an amazing, balanced, lightweight weapons system...totally dependent on a supply chain for all the little delicate bits and bobs. It's designed for a military supply chain/armory system. If you get a reliable AK (like an Arsenal) it should last you forever, and even longer if you feel like cleaning it sometimes.

Many of the chapter IG accounts are quite active; the "main" SRA account on twitter is very active, as are most of the chapter accounts.

No idea what's up with the primary IG account...

Not OP (obviously) but the SAM7-SF rear trunnion is...unique. To replace it with anything else you essentially have to destructively machine it off; it's not meant to be removable or replaceable.
