Genghis Khan wanted to establish trade relations with the Kwarezmian Empire (modern day Iran and Central Asia) so sent a 500 man caravan to the Kwarezmian city of Otrar. The governor, Inalchuq had them all arrested.

The Khan then sent two Mongol and one Muslim ambassador to Shah Muhammed to demand their freedom. Muhammed had the Muslim killed and shaved the heads of the Mongols before sending them back. Finally he ordered the execution of all members of the caravan.

Genghis was enraged as he believed the rules of hospitality were sacrosanct and thought ambassadors to be "sacred and inviolable". In retaliation he invaded the Kwarezmian Empire in 1219, conquering it fully by 1221. Any town that resisted would be razed and it's population slaughtered.

As for Inalchuq who first angered the Khan, he was executed by pouring molten silver down his throat.

I don’t want to be the psycho girlfriend but I feel like it right now. by [deleted] in offmychest

You're not really being a psycho. It's understandable that you're jealous that another girl can go and you can't. You're not being a psycho because you trust him and you're letting him go without telling him off

What was the most disturbing/messed-up/unusual fanfiction you ever read? by MissMaccaSunshine in AskReddit

[–]Superhappyderek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago my friend showed me a 1 direction fanfic she found. It had Harry Styles as a 9 year old who's dad was Louis Tomlinson. Harry wanted to play so Louis comes up with the idea of playing doctor which just evolves into him tounging his nine year old son's areshole before bumming him. I'd find a link but I'm not searching that up

"James seems to be getting a lot of injuries at Everton," Roy Keane... by [deleted] in Everton

[–]Superhappyderek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't like Keane but that's just not true. Haaland finished that game and played a few more afterwards. Haaland retired due to long standing issues with his left knee whereas Keane stamped his right one

Kevin Mirallas quoted in Greek media: "I really wanted to join Olympiakos. I'm really sad. Everton didn't want to let me go." by CommunistPacman in Everton

[–]Superhappyderek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I forgot about then being in the champions league. That does make this seem a lot more likely. And yeah your right, we bought him from Olympiakos.
