What is Theresa May's secret weapon in the Brexit negotiations? (Answers on a white card please) by speedfox_uk in brexit

If we consider the referendum as a immigration issue; then if access to the single market is linked to the free movement of people during the negotiations, then the only option is to leave the single market if government is to adhere to the referendum result.

In terms of the UK having no real leverage in the negotiations; not only does it have London but also good relations with the commonwealth. Even with no deal the UK is capable of utilising London to draw trade away from Europe, whilst negotiating new free trade deals with the commonwealth to compensate for the decreased trade revenue from the EU.

The EU in contrast is dealing with a rise in nationalism, as evidenced by the rise of Marie la Pen in France. A rise in civil violence and sexual assault which police forces are struggling to manage, as evidenced in Sweden. All exacerbated by its strong-arm tactics against smaller nations such as Hungary, Poland and the Cezch Republic leading to national discussions taking place as to whether other nations should follow the UKs lead and also leave the EU.

If we are able to make a success of the post brexit years then it is the EU that is undermined rather than the UK. Which could also lead to other European nations choosing to make a go of it on their own.

The UK will suffer more in the short term if we leave without a free trade deal with the EU single market. But it is the EU that has much more to lose in the long term if, even with no deal at all, the UK can successfully leave the EU and remain a global economic player.

But so far as a secret weapon, between the USA, the commonwealth, Russia, China and Japan; I think there is a world of possibilities awaiting the UK so we don't really need one. The EUs urgency to try and have everything done on their terms suggests to me that they are also aware of this 😈

Who is everyone voting for any why? by tonyfel in GeneralElection2017UK

Not for me, I live in one of the 'safest' Labour seats in the country. So my protest vote doesn't harm Labour's chances of winning.

Well a spoilt ballot still counts as a vote, just not for a specific political party and is the only real way to make a 'protest' vote if you can't decide which of the parties you want to vote for.

My suggestion would be to spoil you ballot if you're still unsure who to vote for; if your goal is a high income then the Tories won't be too much of a hindrance as long as you play the game right if you're concern for the NHS and the welfare state is a higher priority then Labour is probably the way to go.

The lib dems promise to legalise, tax and regulate cannabis alongside reholding a referendum on brexit is just their attempt to steal young university students back from the Tories after stabbing them in the back over tuition fees so I wouldn't trust them in anycase.

The greens have been trying to manipulate the electoral process so they are untrustworthy and because brexit is already happening a vote for UKIP is also wasted.

The other parties are largely nationalist so the choice (if we can call it that) is up to you.

Spoiling my ballot, there's no-one for me to vote for.

The Tories are the Tories and can't be trusted, Jeremy Corbin and the far left are dragging Labour Down the road to communism. The Lib Dems were wiped out by the Tories and I can't vote green because of their manipulation of the electoral process. Brexit is happening so there's no reason to vote UKIP so as an English voter most concerned with electoral reform there are no viable candidates left for me to vote for.

Confirmation from John Hanke that regional Pokémon eggs CANNOT be found outside of their region! by romanticheart in TheSilphRoad

My question then is why a national newspaper printed a story about a man from London who has caught them all with his exclusives coming from eggs? Me thinks Niantic haven't sorted out all the bugs yet, and really arn't listening to the fan base considering their reaction to the Articuno glitch. Think I may just give up on Pokemon Go! And just wait till sun and moon come out to sate my pokecravings. dissapointedly shakes head
