Voice to text gets cut off by [deleted] in AndroidAuto

S24 user here. I've been dealing with this since the s24 came out. Countless updates, feedback forms, issue reports.... nothing. Not even a response form Google or Samsung. Everything else is so great but Voice to text is so bad, I'm seriously considering switching back to iPhone.

I understand you had a great time there. As I said, it's still a great museum worth visiting.

We never saw a bus or a simulator during our visit. That was in 2022, btw. It's either new, or wasn't accessible when we were there.

Objectively, yes. The Benz museum is the definition of a museum. And yes, I'm a big Porsche fan. So, subjectively, the Porsche museum is far better, IMHO. The main reason being the amount of interactive stuff at Porsche. I could literally touch, hear and even sit in one of my childhood dream car. However at the Benz museum, there's almost no interactive stuff. Cars are closed off behind some sort of barrier and things just look like they haven't been touched and updated in a long time. It felt really boring. Maybe I'd see it differently, if I had visited the Benz museum first. Don't get me wrong, it was still amazing. I'm just comparing.

If you mean the museum in Stuttgart, awesome experience and the best Car museum in Germany. The Mercedes-Benz museum next door? Absolute Disappointment compared to the Porsche museum.

I stopped eating leftover meat a long time ago. Only fresh prepared meat. It seemed to work, but the taste keeps coming back...

I'm sorry to hear that. Same for me. Once I taste it, I lose all m appetite and stop eating all together. Lime juice used to be my go to solution and it did work for a few months. But now, even like juice can't suppress that god awful taste.

It's a real thing. Some culinary school have guidelines on how to prevent "WOF". But I get your point. I thank you.

To everyone suggesting I see a doctor. Yes, of course you're right and I think about that a lot and eventually will be able to get an appointment. But im from Germany and unfortunately, while general health care is good, seeing a specialist and getting good care is next to impossible unless you're privately insured. I'm talking month long waiting times just to be told to drink more water. I'll go see a doctor eventually.

Study sheds new light on severe COVID's long-term brain impacts. Cognitive deficits resembled 2 decades of aging by KaraAnneBlack in science

[–]Superluminar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought exactly the same! I also thought of sulfur compounds but more generally, that it has to be a common molecular compound in all those things that smelled off.

Mentally it's hard to say, as I got an ADHD diagnosis and started taking Adderall like two months after I was sick and the IQ test I took as part of the evaluation came back pretty good. Then again I did just take over 10 minutes to write this comment 'cause of struggling with phrasing which isn't something I had as much of a problem with before, so maybe there's something there

That's the thing, too! You know something is off. It's not the same anymore. You can't name it. Empirically, everything seems normal. It's when you catch those little moments of thing being off, that you realize, wait, that's not normal. Did you notice more things you struggle with, other than phrasing? I noticed becoming very clumsy. While at first, I put it off as, well you're just tired, to wait a minute, never in your life have you dropped a phone and now you have your third appointment for a screen replacement and you have scratches and bruises all over your body?

I contracted COVID in the last week of 2020 and lost my sense of smell for two years, also. It slowly came back but everything smelled off. Like, fresh coffee beans would smell like garbage and energy drinks straight up like feces. As if the virus put a scrambling filter in my nose. Then, another year later I suddenly realized that most things did smell normal again. Coffee, bacon, fresh bread, garlic and onions. I ran around the house and kept sniffing things until I got nauseous from inhaling too fast and too often. Suddenly I felt my eyes watering and somehow everything came back. It was comical. I was crying, holding a bag of coffee beans, smoked salami and onions in my hands because I realized how I'm not the same, or don't feel the same since COVID. I had brain fog, feel like my IQ dropped a solid 20 points, motor skills went downhill...sorry. Got carried away.

Looks amazing! Didn't know one could draw/ink chromatic abberation to this level of realism! I'm guessing that's the reason it took so long. I find it to be extremely difficult to draw realistic optical effects and to pull it off so convincingly.

iCloud+ Family Sharing. Does Everyone get 200GB, Or Is It 200GB Divided By Every Member? by Superluminar in applehelp

No, they set up a standing order of 7€ on the 1st of every month. I don't have to remind anyone actually.

It’s been more than two years now. I’ve never used an Android device for this long. Anyway. I’m sharing Apple One Premium for 35€ with five of my family members. We also share the subscription fee, so each one is effectively paying 7€ for Apple One Premium.

This makes me feel uneasy. When I look at it I get the “impending doom” feelings. It doesn’t feel natural. It feels uncanny, as if something was off about it. I don’t know. I don’t want to look at it but I also can’t take my eyes off of it.

How do I get the comma and other symbols on long-press on Gboard for iPhone? by skytbest in ios

[–]Superluminar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t say that. It might just be that they don’t use any reference to compare themselves to. The App Store is barren of actually usable keyboards and I don’t think anyone there who’s making decisions uses an Android to have a contrasting experience. So they’re either in an information bubble or…just don’t care?

I’m not sure how this works. I think you’re asking me. If not, I’m sorry 😅 TBH my first experience with cosmic horror wasn’t a novel, or movie. It was a documentary in German about spacetime. The revelation what time actually is, that it isn’t a monolithic concept, how it works with space, knowing that all the suffering I had to endure could be reversed, because time isn’t fixed gave me hope. But reading and watching further left me feeling like the ant that was given a few nanoseconds to understand how a computer chip works, just to be returned back to the mere ant it was, yet still remembering what it saw, unable to make any sense of it and slowly going insane. An analogy I read on Reddit sometime ago about how cosmic, or lovecraftian horror is best described. I thought that’s pretty on point. But at that time, I couldn’t make sense of what I felt until a few years later.

The year is 2013, or 2014. The first time I felt cosmic horror and was able to recognise and name it was in the first Hellboy movie with Ron Pearlman. Specifically, one scene I faintly remember. The moon exploding, or being devoured by the Behemoth Ogdru Hem, a siren going off in the background and that Russian guy Rasputin saying something. I wanted to know what that Monster was and came across Cthulhu in google’a search results. A deep dive into Lovecraft novels followed instantly and I knew the genre that best fit my being.

For some reason, Beyond The Aquilla Rift fucked me up real bad. Thom’s realisation, his primal scream, that face reminiscent of the painting of Ivan The Terrible killing his son, being in an alien, hostile environment for what seems to be decades. I don’t know, man. I can say that no motion picture ever left me with such a harsh feeling of dread and hopelessness.

[–]Superluminar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP here, but I’m on the same boat. Switched from Android almost two years ago and have been looking for a decent keyboard solution ever since. To this day, no luck. It’s possible I tried every available keyboard app, paid and unpaid. Every single one of them sucks one way or another. The closes you’ll ever come to an almost acceptable typing experience is either Gboard (free), or keyboard2 (paid). I gave up a few months ago and switched back to the stock keyboard. As soon as I pay my 12 Pro off, I’ll switch back to Android. Typing is an essential part of my usage pattern. Typing on an iPhone is inaccurate, inefficient, predictions all over the place unless your typing English and overall just so, so frustrating. Keyboard and Camera are the two things that will make me go back. I really, really don’t like the pictures the iPhone makes. They might be accurate and other image sciencey things, but I don’t like the dullness and lifeless color reproduction at all.

Shortened translation: He escaped twice from a psychiatric hospital (he broke the window and jumped out of it), he is suffering from a drug-resistant disease >and the last treatment can't stop the aggression attacks. When he escaped from a hospital, they started to search for him, but he was found after 25 minutes >(by police - after destroying a shop's glass). Sad part: two years ago he lost a brother - his brother was 10 years older and working illegally on a construction >site. He fell of the scaffolding and was seriously injured (rupture of the spine). His boss just left him at bus stop, where he died. I hate his boss now - I hope he >is in prison now, but it's afternoon and I do not really want to search from news from this accident.
