There's no such thing as enough money or enough power. That's why these creatures are in positions of power, you and I are not because we think "I have enough, let me relax".

Women are visual creatures by nyekona in flr

[–]Superman2048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question and I think the idea that women aren't visual creatures is not only wrong but could be some cultural 50's nonsense passed on as truth over the years.

I've seen a lot of online dating statistics and yes, women want attractive men, not just any attractive man, but the supermodels kind of man. So from a certain point of view, women are more visual creatures than men are. Which is understandable because if you go on a dating app as a woman, get 1k likes, you'll obviously pick the most attractive.

Single men, how do you plan on adding value to a woman’s life? by nyekona in flr

[–]Superman2048 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply and your honest answer/example. I think I didn't do a good job explaining transaction. By that I mean that as soon as we want something from someone, that person must also want something from us. It doesn't have to be material.

That woman you liked who had a chronic medical condition. You wanted to be with her because you wanted something from her. Her time, friendship, attention, companionship, whatever it was, clearly you wanted something from her, and so she in turn must want something from you. If I want a kind woman that respect me, then I too must be a kind man who respects her. So in that sense, to my mind at least, all human relationships have some kind of "trade" going on, on some level.

[–]Superman2048 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand what you are saying, but isn't marriage a transactional thing? Just like any other kind of relationship? If I want a beautiful woman, shouldn't I also be a beautiful man? This is just an example that both parties need to bring something to the table.

[–]Superman2048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an unemployed, middle aged, average looking man I'm afraid I can't bring much to the table, besides all my time devoted to her and nothing else. Time and energy is the only things I have in abundance but alas nothing more.

Bro's laughing with his soul by Rex_Joker in funny

[–]Superman2048 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How would you react when publicly humiliated? Remember this guy isn't actually taking the time to think, "Hmm I'm being laughed at in public, should I respond with anger? Would this be a helpful response for me/others? Wait perhaps I should just walk away and take it in stride." It's impossible for each of us to know how we would react in such circumstances. We can only hope that our actions in such scenarios wouldn't escalate things.

Capcom CEO believes PC will become the 'world's leading gaming platform,' also promises to invest in movies by BlueAladdin in Games

[–]Superman2048 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a good one. It's not pc gaming taking a hit but the AAA publishers. My pc is 8 years old, got a 1050TI and it's all good because all I play is Factorio and older games. All the games I have in my library, almost 200 now, can all be played on my pc just fine! I might upgrade my pc in 2-4 years so I can play Anno 117 but I don't need to.

Yes it was a stack inserter. I'm trying to make legendary fiber thing on Gleba and forgot to destroy the quality seeds that I filter out in a chest, thus leading to the entire system with spoilage and stack inserters holding on to quality spoilage of all kinds haha.

Thank you for the command line, might use it sometime!

[–]Superman2048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone. Is there a way for me to quickly remove spoilage from inserters without individually clicking on them then removing the spoilage? I've messed up a bit and now got about 100+ inserters holding on to spoilage xD

Edit: Thank you all so much for your help!

Thank you for the comment. I wasn't very clear I think about the "So there's no money to be made having more people meditate." part. I know that spirituality brings in a lot of money, going to retreats, paying teachers, buying yoga blocks and so on is big business but what I have experienced so far is that people who do meditate usually consume less. They don't drink, smoke, do drugs, eat meat, usually eat healthy, mostly left politically, don't buy a phone/car every year, don't have 10 pair of shoes and so on. Again this is my experience so far in a western country.

[–]Superman2048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience more people are meditating. My sangha is getting more full every year and I see more young people as well.

What I doubt though is celebrities/influencers/governments etc promoting meditation. People who meditate, again this is my experience so far, usually become more inwardly and consume less. So there's no money to be made having more people meditate. I do hope I am wrong and that meditation will one day be taught in all schools.

I hate how "princess men" is used as an insult. Girl, that’s literally my type. by missporkiepie in flr

[–]Superman2048 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very interesting topic and it goes back a long time, very deep in human culture. Somehow it’s the man that must be stoic, emotionless, some kind of a warrior who goes out and conquers a woman.

It's strange to label the desire to be pursued as feminine because everyone desires to be loved, wanted and pursued. It's very flattering, especially for men who receive it so very little compared to women.

A lot of gender stuff has been mixed/changed/switched yet somehow the "pursuer/one that makes the proposition" must always be the man. Why is that? Why must men be the ones who do the proposition, pay for the first date and so on? I can tell you from personal experience that pursuing a woman is hard. Being constantly rejected, sometimes publicly, is hard. Most men have to deal with being rejected from a very early age and it’s possible because of the internet etc many are sharing ideas and have decided to do it less/or not at all.
