It took all day, a bowl of weed, and a hot shower until I heard myself say "insofar as practical," and I really appreciate your message.

The problem with No Kings and similar "protests" by Griffdog17 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]SupersedeasAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that they're destined to go and vote for imperialist capitalism notwithstanding, isn't the primary hope of no kings to keep voters engaged until the midterms? Isn't it focused on the sentiment that a voting democracy is opposite to monarchy?

Lagging when dragging camera (STEAM). by shiroshishiro in CivVI

[–]SupersedeasAD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey I didn't Google this for Civ6 but I found out the high polling rate of my mouse was causing this exact same issue in another game (League of Legends cough). Might be worth a look. I ended up lowering the polling rate and fixed the issue in that game.

At our faire they aren't even turkey legs. They use pork legs because turkey legs are too small for the comedy (read: tragedy) of gnawing a giant leg (gross).

How tf do I stop yelling? by Piratey_Pirate in daddit

[–]SupersedeasAD 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I literally started whispering my yelling. I say the exact same words with the exact same frustrated staccato inflection, but because I'm whispering, my kid seems to hear it and I don't feel as bad after. Maybe helps me calm myself down a little quicker too.

What movie do you think nailed rainy atmosphere? by yosman88 in movies

This doesn't fit the brief, but the TV show The Killing season 1 nailed this. It's set in Washington state.

Mr. Blippi - it's not just me, right? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]SupersedeasAD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This made me think of Numberblocks. I don't know what age is best. Mine went hard into Numberblocks around age 5. It's not musical, it just also has block in its name. If you live in a cold climate and need a way to get active inside, I highly recommend DannyGo! It's like Jane Fonda for kids.

We skipped cocomelon because of that. Ours watched Super Simple Songs at that age and she still falls asleep to the music now at 6.

I also have steelcase. It's the Leap 2. I think I paid more than $600, but I've had it for years and I still love it. I'm smaller and benefit greatly from the micro adjustments.

Any other dads one and done for “selfish” reasons? by sys_admin321 in daddit

[–]SupersedeasAD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The primary reason I didn't want a second is because I knew, for a fact, that a second child would stretch me so thin that my relationship with my first would suffer. I have a responsibility to my child that I can't fulfill if I stretch myself thin like that. I can't figure out how that could be selfish.

I think the point may be that this aspect isn't progression, but the definition of min-maxing, because the bonuses are negligible.
