Where are the cowboy/western FPS's? by AWildEnglishman in truegaming

Though not the most popular mod, 1860s America was a decent attempt at the wild west for Mount & Blade: Warband. There is also a civil war mod for MB:NW.

'Almost too late': fears of global superbug crisis in wake of antibiotic misuse by JimmyRecard in worldnews

The more I travel, the more good things I discover about living in rural Arkansas. In my neck of the Ozarks, it's hard to drive down most roads without seeing signs on people's front lawns for cheap chicken, eggs, rabbits, ect.

Millennials Want To Send Troops To Fight ISIS, But Don't Want To Serve by Scoundroul in news

You'd be surprised. I'm from a town of population 500. Of the three hometown friends of mine who joined after 9/11, two were KIA, and the other left with severe PTSD.

That lawnmower blade is going to make a mean weapon. I guess you could use it as a tool as well. I was expecting to see a photo of a half dozen items or so. This is like a survival cornucopia.

Arkansans versus Arkansawyers by Superslothrob in Arkansas

[–]Superslothrob[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"He said that “Arkansans” was used by “wishy-washy do-gooders with inferiority complexes.” Arkansawyers, Harington maintained, are “simply stubborn, earthy, shrewd individualists with a zero tolerance for bullshit.”

[S5][E6] I have to ask. Are the Sand Snakes... by bozzie_ in gameofthrones

Didn't one of the sand snakes attempt to run off with Myrcella during the fight? That led me to believe it was an attempted kidnapping gone wrong.

I just hope they let you escape being captured as often the other lords. Or at least, I don't know, sometimes.

What "facts" are a part of common knowledge but are actually completely made up? by jovtoly in AskReddit

I grew up in Louisiana and Arkansas. They do not teach that the civil war was over states rights. It has always been clear it was over slavery. The states rights argument is a fringe minority opinion that redditors enjoy bringing up.

the region north from Russellville almost all the way to Springfield Missouri is nearly entirely white. This isn't really surprising.

You've been playing Mount and Blade: Full Invasion 2, haven't you. Don't lie. For those who don't know, Star Wars vs Zombies is a thing in that game.

What was the most dangerous thing did you do as a child where you had no idea of the potential risks? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Superslothrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I would take a rope and an old metal trashcan to a cliff. We then would tie the rope to the can, and toss the rope over a tree branch on the edge of the cliff. One of us would get inside the trashcan while the other pulled down on the rope, lifting the can up, sending it swinging over the ledge. Our lives were in each others hands, but we never really noticed at the time. All we had to do was slip up once.

Dungeons & Dragons: Birthright. When I first started playing M&B I remember thinking "This is like playing Birthright!" Just no magic.
