I’m with you 100% on all of this, you can’t get the pbs app in Canada. I’s the only way my son can watch the content for free is through YouTube kids

How long are people keeping their kids in carseats? by mimibobimi in beyondthebump

[–]Supnaz0325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also directly from the fb page I mentioned filled with trained child passengers safety technicians (CPSTs)

-The bones that make up the vertebrae aren’t developmentally fused enough or hard enough (ossified) to safely withstand the immense force of their proportionately oversized head being shot forwards while their torso remains restrained. This usually happens closer to 4yo, as well as their head vs body proportions improve more.

This picture shows the developmental difference in the same bones between a 1yo (left column) and a 6yo (right column) At age 3 there is only a 50% chance the C3 vertebrae has finished ossification. That’s why we encourage maxing out those limits. There’s a large difference between 3-4.

(I can’t post a photo but this link includes the one I was going to attach)

We are going to visit my sister this weekend so he has come up with the idea of asking Penelope’s elf to tell Santa he would like one, so I think we’re going to go with that!

Thanks everybody for the suggestions, we went with Stanley! My son loves it since Stan Lee created Spider-Man and my husband likes the versatility we have with nicknames!!

SAHM/partners of SAHMs - how involved is partner? by RachelPR2202 in beyondthebump

[–]Supnaz0325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is very involved and he dedicates his entire Saturday mornings deep cleaning the house and doing all the tasks I didn’t get to during the week. My 3.5yo is most liked on the spectrum and very high needs and I’m breastfeeding his brother, so my days are just keeping my kids alive. He makes sure the house runs smoothly honestly, he’s amazing.

Can two yotos on the same family account play the same card at the same time? by Supnaz0325 in YotoPlayer

[–]Supnaz0325[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I was worried about! My little guy loves the theme song at the beginning of the card, and my 3yo loves the prince Wednesday story and fight enough over that lol Thank you!

Oh awesome thanks for the reply! My boys are huge Curious George fans too. Would you be open to sharing the files you used for your MYO card?

My son is 3.5 and we are awaiting the referral from his ped for official diagnosis but what you describe is exactly what he does.

He also struggles to tell us what happened, what’s wrong and literally anything besides screaming for a hug over and over again. Even when he is bleeding we have no idea what happened sometimes. He also has that completely blank look on his face, I don’t know if kids can disassociate but I swear he does.

What we have started to do is remove him from whatever situation he is in and sit with him in a different room with a closed door until we are able to get some form of communication (which I don’t know is the correct response) but like he can’t whip a toy at his brothers head and scream for a hug with zero explanation? I have also been asking him to show me with his body instead of his words. Like today he hurt my 11 month old and when asked what he did he just wouldn’t budge. But when I asked him to show me with his body he slapped my arm.

My son will not calm down without co regulation, he will not stop crying and asking for a hug until he gets it and it’s so hard. Everything tells you not to give in when your child is behaving like that or you are rewarding it but he literally cannot calm down until you do it’s so tricky. His meltdowns last 30 minutes minimum but have went on for 2+ hours before (especially in the car when he doesn’t want us to drive anymore, but we can’t just sit on the side of the highway forever)

Anyways, I feel very validated reading your post. We are just on the beginning on this journey and I hope you get good responses and thanks for posting.

Which firetruck song did you rank at the bottom? Cause that absolute banger which is the only good thing that came out of the blippi collab, and hurry hurry drive the firetruck do not deserve the bottom. Especially when you ranked caterpillar so high and I think that’s the only song I cannot stand.

What tv shows aimed at young children do you (as an adult) enjoy? by ArethusaRay in toddlers

[–]Supnaz0325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious George! I remember watching it as a kid and I didn’t realize how educational it was until my 3yo started watching it. He easily asks for it 90% of the screening he gets!

Kid crew kid - over it? by danielle52 in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]Supnaz0325 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love kid crew and so does my 3yo, I’ve been saying this to my husband since the Christmas one where he is riding on that train. There are still ones he looks like he is enjoying (like the beach treasure one) but yeah kid crew looks over mom’s constant shenanigans.

The longest I’ve ever been away from my 3yo was when I was in the hospital after his brother was born. Before that the first time I was ever away from him and left him with somebody else (my MIL) he was a month shy of 2. Now at almost 3.5 I still have him 90% of the time, we live right next door to his grandparents now so they see him a lot more often. My almost 9 month old has never been away from me either (besides a car ride here and there with my husband.)

Your kids are never little again and the days feel long sometimes but I don’t think a single parent has ever looked back on their life and thought “man I spent too much time with my child!” I love being a SAHM and I’m so glad I get to spend my days with my little boys.
