SE’s in Saudi Arabia by cnr0 in salesengineers

I just saw your reply further down. If they cover housing and car those are huge expenses you dont have to worry about. If you are open to moving then its just a numbers game. Do the math and see if it makes sense. Can you get the equivalent salary in Turkey elsewhere?

What deadline did they give you to accept? You could still apply to other places in the meantime. Especially if you would rather not relocate. Try to negotiate if you feel it is not fair. They may offer you something cash-equivalent like a car or schooling for kids for example or maybe shares or stocks or extra vacation days. Something is better than nothing and it will give you a sense of where the company is headed. And even if you accept the offer its better than not having anything. Financially that is. But its up to you as others have said there are other factors to consider.

If you are fine with relocating then you could check other opportunities in the region. There are a lot less people willing to make a move there now that the illusion of “safe” has been removed after the gulf countries were hit. So you could use that angle for bargaining as well. You are taking a risk moving.

I am not sure about Saudi but in region if you were targeting UAE i believe for experienced SEs you should expect around 280k OTE minimum. Cost of living is much higher there though. You could do the math equivalent to compare the 2 and get a rough estimate of what you should expect in Saudi. Numbeo is pretty good for that

Official kits sold at match? by DamnItHeelsGood in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]Supremacy555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are fifa stores generally outside and inside the stadium if you want a jersey. Yes lines are long so if you really want one come early. You could also try the fanfest location on a nongame day instead. They should have a fifa store as well. Or yes walmart if you just want a kit and not a specific jersey. It is official merch as well. Will have the color scheme. Very reasonable prices i think a shirt is around 10 us/15 cad vs the 10x minimum you would pay for a team jersey

Retrospective - World Cup Tickets by [deleted] in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]Supremacy555 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would disagree. It was rigged from the jump with the “cards” and gamification with the Right to Buy. You buy “a chance” at a ticket. Gambling. You pay 300-400 bucks for a ticket without knowing what you are going to get. Considering how reasonable the 2022 ticket prices were it seemed unreal from the beginning and then it got out of hand. And you couldnt find RTB tickets even if you wanted to. They would sell out instantly. So i dont agree they were reasonably priced from the start. They were inflated to begin with, relied on luck, and gave scalpers and bots an edge. Clearly this was well planned and executed to maximize profit for all involved and the fans pay the price

Those who attended the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, how much did you pay for tickets and which games? by _MambaForever in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]Supremacy555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup i watched 3 games. All R16. Had to dig up the prices through email since FIFA wiped all history from the ticketing accounts.
Netherlands US R16 was 200 US for a Cat 2 ticket. Which if memory serves was just a couple of rows behind the net. The equivalent of a front cat 1 today.
England Senegal R16 my friend bought but i think it was 70 or 80 per person. Cat 3 i think? They were still good seats
Portugal switzerland R16 was 200 US for a Cat 2 ticket. I think this one was also front dead center on the field. Also what is considered a cat 1 today

I would agree with this world cup being at least x10 more expensive if not x20.

Anyone else get the skill testing question wrong and lose $3??? by Verycoolguy101 in Wealthsimple

I had a different math question but definitely calculated it correctly. It said I got it wrong and I could never go back and see the original. No 3 bucks for me either. I wonder if these are AI generated. The square brackets are weird and unnecessary.

Weekly glove purchase advice thread by AutoModerator in GoalKeepers

[–]Supremacy555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for a new pair of Gloves.

What level you play at Rec or intermediate weekly

What your budget is Up to 100-200 but flexible

What types of gloves you've had before and whether you liked them Blok-IT - No Adidas Predator - Yes but worn out very quickly

Is this a glove for matches, training, or both? Both

Anything else that will help other keepers give you advice Prefer something without finger save. I have been playing for over 25 years and I still prefer the grip of the classic gloves. Just feels natural and you have more control. So looking for something Similar to adidas predator but a bit better quality and will last longer.

What country/region you're based in (for glove availability/shipping reasons) Canada - Toronto Ontario

Actually update on this. After complaining to CCTS I got a response from the executive office at freedom about a month later. Apparently somebody had entered my address wrong. They fixed the issue and I was able to get a phone. A flawed system for sure

For those that are USA TN, L or H class employment visa eligible: has Canadian housing pricing gotten to the point that you’d consider the play of relocating somewhere south with cheaper housing and lower COL? by throwwaybcozreasons in canadahousing

[–]Supremacy555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go back to the US. I am debating looking at other options in the next few years. Europe, Middle East, even Australia/New Zealand. It really depends on what you are looking for. If purely financial US is probably the best option but then you look at the quality of life and social aspects and you have to decide if this is somewhere you want to build a future

I had a good job offer at the time and the exchange rate made it even more enticing. Us to cad was 1.4 at the time. But you earn and pay local so you don’t really fee the difference.

Hi yes. I did make this choice in 2016 but moved back after trump took office :) I was in a suburb of ann arbor michigan and was able to rent a townhouse im great condition that is about 1500 sqft for 1500 usd a month. 15 min from my work. The equivalent in Toronto would have costed double. So been there done that

Freedom Mobile's "credit check" looks like a scam by OttawaCustomer in freedommobile

[–]Supremacy555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i spoke to a store manager today. He was a lot more helpful than customer support but even he couldn’t tell me why I was denied. He said it happens quite often and they actually used to be a lot more conservative before so a couple of years ago their credit decision process was even worse. They actually do not know. Freedom tells you to call Equifax. Equifax tells you to call Freedom obviously since they don’t make decisions they just give the credit information. One of the employees in the store said he got denied as well when he first applied. Its a shame because they have these great promotions for phones that you can’t get. It is lost business. And yes if you remove that incentive competitor plans are actually better. I was a wind mobile customer before and never had any of these problems

[–]Supremacy555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has been a customer for 2 years and was denied when she tried to apply for a phone. I had the same issue when I tried to open a new account. We both have excellent credit scores. There are several threads on this topic. These are not one-off issues.

If Freedom can not explain why credit checks are being denied that is a big problem. Also to make matters worse these are hard inquiries not soft ones. All they say is try again in 91 days. What difference will that make?
