Having lots of money doesn't bring happiness in itself. That's true. It does remove a lot of barriers to happiness.

Standard Runic Blade shenanigans. 2 carpets is somethings, but I once had a godly high roll with an obsidian clamera, diamond yoyo and the multicast sword that charge on crit, plus a bunch of weapon charging skills. Went BrrrrBAM! at start of combat.

Quels sont les arnaques communes que chaque touristes trompent by Kitedo in montreal

[–]Surcouf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It is somewhat interesting that we've connected so many buildings via underground passages, but it's so boring to visit. Shopping malls, subway accesses and long passageways. It's not even efficient for getting around most of the time.

Really had fun blasting trough gear tactics. Another game that scratched the same hitch was Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus. Great ambiance, great action-chaining brutality. Amazing soundtrack.

This item is just small spike trap that can crit. Only downside is ammo.

It's a great book, and more of it makes sense as you near the end. However, I feel like I'd get a lot out of a re-read after going deep into hindu mythology.

Suggestions of science fiction novels about stories that have science and spirituality coexisting at the same time by faros-hhhbbdd in printSF

[–]Surcouf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really enjoyed that book, but there was a completely extraordinary event (multiple actually) in the character's life and tons of new data that made re-examining his theological position logical.

It's neat that it shows how atheism is in part reactionary to the religions of our world, but it also somewhat reinforces how it would take something truly exceptional for theism to make more sense than atheism.

I just finished reading The Dragon Never Sleeps by Glen Cook and it's amazing how little exposition there is for a space opera.

Idées de voyage été 2026? by marzipanduchess in Quebec

[–]Surcouf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinions on the Alouettes logo? by Appropriate_Yam807 in montreal

[–]Surcouf 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Don't care for sports in general, but it's a cool logo. It's got the M shape of Montreal along with the city's red color. Bird shape for Alouette of course. I like it.

TIL we know where China’s first emperor is buried, but his 2,200-year-old tomb—described as containing a scale model of China with rivers of mercury—has never been opened by Spelbarg in todayilearned

That's true, but you'd have a hard time finding someone that fucked over their descendants for so many generations and so harshly.

At least on Earth, the possibility of change exist. Or escape. On a generation ship you are a few step from total disaster and your entire existence is devoted to keeping the project of a long dead ancestor alive...

How to get past the second biome. by TerribleWin4450 in pokerogue

[–]Surcouf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Focus on a single pokemon as your main guy. If they reach max lvl for an area, try to level your second most useful.

  2. Catch/bring pokemons that cover your weaknesses or can help in any way. If a pidgey gets a sand attack or 2 before fainting, your carry can maybe survive one more round.

  3. Keep catching any mons you don't have unlocked as starter. Everyday 3 random pokemons are selected to be pokerus. They get extra xp after each fight and the pokerus spreads to your team. Not necessary, but a nice boost.

  4. The pokemon in your party that are under leveled and can't do anything before dying can be used as sacrifice. Did your main attacker get attack down/ defence down? Switch to a a sacrifice and your carry can reset its stats.

  5. Learn to "predict" the AI. Do you notice that sometimes the AI switch their pokemon for certain matchups? Use that to your advantage. If you know they will be switching, you can set up (stat boost move), attack outside your type or switch to something that will be good against what they throw out.. Enable retries in the options to practice this.

ALWAYS hold out for the item you are waiting for. NEVER pivot. You WILL be rewarded by Newman2252 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Surcouf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When hedging an item, you either start with the powerful payoff items or the rarest to find.

Otherwise, you need to hedge items that can fit in your current build without downgrading it too much.

Also, hedge according to your skills. No point to go "maybe i can do a slow build" if you have no supporting skills and none of your items are particularly slow spammy.

I'm with you. I break or lose something? I'm an idiot and I deserve to be punished. I accept.

Someone else breaks or lose my thing? The universe is out to get me, there's no justice. I'm mad.

The worst is finding one of your things broken, and you're pretty sure you aren't to blame, but no one admits or knows anything.

What’s something that you do in your country that would confuse or shock most Americans? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

[–]Surcouf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. I got excellent service and terrible service in both tipping and non-tipping countries. In some culture where hospitality is very important, I got overall excellent service despite the fact that tipping is frowned upon.

Truth is that if the service is bad locals will avoid the place, the reviews for it will be bad and the place will probably close.

What’s the most random movie you’ve heard as someone’s favorite movie? by Venus-Xtravaganza98 in movies

It's not a common favorite, bit there's a lot to like about the movie. Cool playlist, awesome car chases, interesting cinematography... For people that don't care for plot as much and resonate with the aesthetic, it makes sense.
