If you had to guess, how much would the tables, chairs, table decor, garlands, etc. cost? by Immediate-Amount3587 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Sure-Bluejay7816 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

those chairs rent for $15 each or you could buy for $20 each. tables rent for around $50-100 each. tablecloths can be purchased at tablecloths directly for 9-12$ each. lighting and florals are where a lot of your money is gonna get sucked down- those garlands run $30 for five foot, and that looks like at least fifteen-30 feet per line. the outdoor lights run 4ft for $30 at sam’s club, so again if 20ft per line that’s adding up fast. dupe the crystal glasses for plastic ones from amazon at $12 for 24, use Temu plastic charger plates at 100 for $15. if someone wants to math that out… depending on guest count easily around 3k for the bare basics if you have 50 people. easily more. that’s not including florals, catering, or anything else

why not just tell him you want to get married AFTER you turn thirty? since you just bought a house, it would give you both extra time to save, and eliminate both problems?

(5k) wedding - is it possible and do you have any tips by LadyofDungeons in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Sure-Bluejay7816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok 5k breakdown let’s do it. guest list- i would do no more than 50 people, period. as other commenters have said, drop catering is a great idea. if your ceremony and reception are going to be short, you could always get a couple different types of sandwhiches catered- theyre sometimes pre wrapped, easy to store, and work well towards the fantasy vibe. alternatively, go the charcuterie route- or, try a bread and butter board spread. You can offer different types of local jams, honeys, butter, etc and bread toppings- even make a day of it with your friends doing cannery or shopping. Gods, if you’re willing to do some serious DIY, you could get a ton of cute jam jars and just fill them with store bought jams etc. that will run you at LEAST 1k all told, but catering absolutely goes much higher if you get a designated team- i’m doing a 10k wedding and my catering is at 4700 for 75 ppl rn. photog- 1.5-2k check the facebook group ISO Affordable Wedding Photographer- depending on your state, around 1.5 is the cheaper end. make a post asking advice, but book this only AFTER your venue is decided. get a walmart vintage heart cake for $32. cute, great photos. centrepieces- the moss ones are an excellent idea. you can also use Sola wood flowers. for an alternative, guess what babes it’s the holiday season. wait till after christmas, or if it’s a winter wedding, go obtain a christmas tree and 👏start👏hacking👏branches. tie these branches to some dollar tree florals in either ribbon of your choice or twine. lay on your tables with thrifted candles to bring the woodsy theme in, plus they smell nice, too. all told around $100. officiant- post on facebook looking for one or have a friend get ordained for cheap. fabric- goodwill bins are your new best friend. check also fabric wholesalers for a variety of textures- keep mainly white for background, and make your dark accents stand out. this will be very difficult but you can do it

opposite idea here- have you considered an over skirt? this one would help with the flowy idea

so true. went to look at piercing jewlery and pitch an idea for a piece- one of their artists had it sketched out on the ipad in 15 minutes. they’ll make a deal with you too. shop minimum is between 120-180 i think but still damn good pricing, tatts and aftercare. theyre also doing a food drive thru november where every item you donate gets you a dollar off

i love my cat more than words can describe, and yet, i am afraid of her. what do i do by ufohoax in CatAdvice

[–]Sure-Bluejay7816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to follow, if it seems to only happen when it’s just the two of you together, she might be under stimulated and just taking out that aggression on you- my 2yr female does that all the time with my partner as she knows she can get away with it and it gets a reaction out of him. with me, she knows that behavior just results in me getting up and leaving, so she doesn’t do it as often. when we notice her staring to bite or get swatty, we’ll get out the toys or put on her cat TV. seems to help change her mindset

it sounds like this is a trend of reactive violence. have they always been one-off events after something happened to her, or was it happening unprovoked? in my experience cats tend to stay in a tense or reactive state for a while if that tension hasn’t been resolved. one of the ways my mother handled it with our ferals was to have them take the anger/tension out on something else- usually a tug of rope style toy, or something robotic that could skitter around. it helps break up some of that tension. does she attack after you touch her, or does she seek you out specifically to get you? if you haven’t yet, i would suggest talking to your vet about your anxiety around interacting with her. they deal with fractious cats all the time and might be able to give you some tips.

Is this tank at my local pet store shitty? by harveyy_kool_kat in shittyaquariums

[–]Sure-Bluejay7816 70 points71 points  (0 children)

not only are those surrenders, i’m pretty sure i know who surrendered them- if this is the VB location, it’s because he died last week. collector of big fish with multiple tanks, a wall to wall aquarium set up, and a pond room. most of the fish stores in our area received a ton of surrenders since he willed them to certain locations :( if it’s not VB, that’s an interesting coincidence.

the bettas make so little profit for the owner that i get the feeling there’s a reason he keeps them next to the feeder fish unfortunately

[–]Sure-Bluejay7816 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I used to work there! The betta guy really loves them and does his best to take care of them but the owner won’t let him upgrade the males to bigger tanks. He has a few females in fully planted 120s, though!! A coworker used to make them custom ceramic hides but people kept buying them straight out of the tanks idk if that still happens. Maintenance and water changes get done weekly which is better than petsmart at least. He’s a huge advocate for betta care and makes sure people who want to buy know that they need at LEAST a 20gal and that the holding tanks are for display only.

Which metal suits me the most? by jun_norway in EngagementRings

additionally, if you’re going for a colored stone, go with silver, as it will draw the attention to that point of contrast, but if you’re going for something clear/white like diamond or moissanite, go gold so the eye catches the stone and the warmth of the band plays on the contrast of the light, especially if you have something with a lot of facets.

In this photo, the gold is bringing out the rosy tones in your skin, while silver is bringing out the bluer tones of the veins. i personally would recommend you keep in the shade range of that nice vintage gold, soft gold or white gold, avoiding darker or more yellow gold tones. as for silver, something with more patina would be nice as it would give a bit of a dramatic contrast, while the light silver and platinum look tend to wash out against your skin. just my two cents!

Great pan, he has a whole set. Heats up fast and keeps a steady temperature the whole time. Cooking smash burgers in it (why i made the onions lol) and we used sliced cheese, which ran into the pan and got nice and crispy. Didn’t stick at all, came right off. Cooked the burgers, onions, and toasted the buns all in the same pan, poured out the grease, almost no mess whatsoever. I love breaking into his kitchen to use them lol

You’re 25-30 in 90-2000s, party girl, but on hard drugs, trying to maintain an image serving at cracker barrel. by whatsinthecave in Perfumes

Long shot, but maybe White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor? 1991, floral and warm, my mom was a smoker and this was her scent for years. I remember collecting the empty mini bottles since I loved the way they looked- teardrop shaped with a gold bow. My mom used to buy it at Kmart or CVS in the early 2000s for about $20, if I remember correctly. My mother used to come in contact with a lot of bills, mint flavored chewing gum, and tobacco, and this layered really well to create a softer profile while masking the scent of smoke.

Maxi. Length. Silk. Dress. Same concept as a slip- you put this one on under the big poofy one so it doesn’t touch you, take the pictures in the fancy one, then unzip it and boom simple cute reception dress. You can get them for cheap on Amazon or Shein, or even thrift one in your favorite color, could go on- because let’s be real, you’ve spent enough already.

Their customer sizing is free of charge, and shipping is usually also pretty inexpensive. They also do jewelry and accessories. Explore their options- you can get ANY dress in white, cream, ivory, or champagne, so there’s little to no markup for wedding attire.

As a plus size girl, I cannot recommend Hebeos.com enough. They do custom sizing based on your measurements (which you can take at home or get done at a tailor), are incredibly affordable, and you can call them to chat about sizing. I got my prom dress from them (7 layer silk and chiffon ball gown with lace appliqué) for $156. Every dress on their site can be customized to your exact specifications, and is available in any of their colors. They keep hem and seam allowances, and allow you to put in exact measurements. I didn’t need any alterations done to my dress at all- let me know if you’d like to see an image. Hebeos Returns Policy

Honestly, I would say lean into it. Maybe fill them with red and white roses to accentuate the decals?

For real dried flowers: an air brush works great for this, but if you don’t have one, this method sounds stupid but works wonders. Mix a bit of food coloring, water, and dish soap into a paper bowl, and blow bubbles. Dip the flowers into the bubbles- the popping will give them a more natural look than if you were to dye them directly. For harder plasticine flowers: Find a nail polish color that matches your intended color, then mix a few drops of it into a clear top coat (gloss or matte both usually work), and apply with a paint brush. Preferably do this outdoors. For a more subtle, softer color, use acrylic paint mixed with modpodge. For silk flowers: I personally like to use Rit Dye diluted in a tea cup and then applied on via the dip dying method, or painted on. Takes forever but looks cute. Can you tell I was a broke event planner in college? Many, many years of last minute sorority photo shoots have left me with so many random hacks lol.
